As I understand it, these are from the "Robust Line" products. To differentiate them, presumably, from the "Flimsy Line", the "For Show Only Line" and the "Fell off a Lorry Line".

So, not a type of drill, the "Line Drill" type, that I went hunting for, never having heard of one.

The Amazon page states that one battery (type unknown) is needed. Hopefully a mistake - but if they get that wrong, this could be a set of can openers...

These are going to be used as bottoming drills, I assume - to give a hole with a flat bottom. So a set of adjustable preset end stops with them might have been nice. The photograph of someone vertically drilling over a posh wood worktop, without an end stop on the drill, is presumably an idea from the sales people and not a serious suggestion on how to use them. It does look an odd way to drill a hole in a bit of wood..

I have a sort of love/hate thing with brad point drills. IME they really don't like hardwoods. YMMV. They don't mention what sort of steel these are made from and they are a challenge to sharpen.

Some of the reviews are pretty damning - with drills bending and snapping. The complaint about breaking through untidily is not very fair - you are suppose to drill until the point shows, then counter drill from the other side. Something a brad drill will do nicely.

Could I kindly ask if you have some suggestions for some drill bits that you can vouch for?

Really sharp wood bits but have had two snap on me now, for the money definitely a good purchase!!

Have had these for a few years, haven't broken a bit yet they do exactly what you expect.
