It's no secret that Bose knows noise-cancelling and on the QC SEs, it gets even better. Perfect for blocking out noisy neighbours while you work from home. There's even a noise-rejecting mic that isolates your voice from environmental sound so you can take calls in noisy surroundings.

With the QC SE's there are now six external mics to measure and cancel noise, a noise-rejecting mic and when someone needs your attention or you're about to cross the road, press the aware mode button - you'll immediately hear everything loud and clear.

Aware Mode & High-Fidelity Music.

choosing between these 2 will come down to personal preference.

Bose definitely wins for comfort specially long time wearing.

noise cancellation of both are excellent and best in business.

sound quality will be very subjective,Bose has a more neutral, natural, balanced tuning whereas Sony has more bass enhanced,”v shape”,”exciting “ tuning.

Great audio. But the mics are useless for teams/zoom/calls. Pick absolutely everything up. Really disappointed....

If your priority is microphone and call quality, then Apple Airpods Max/Airpod Pro is the way to go.simple best in business for microphone quality.

I've got XM4s whilst my partner has these Bose. I've heard the Sony = better NC suggestion before, but when testing on a flight we both agreed the Bose blocked (very marginally) more of the engine sound.

I like the 3 different modes of the Sony (Noise Cancelling On/Off/ambient) and the ability to hold your hand over the right ear cup to temporarily enter ambient sound mode if someone starts talking to you. The tradeoff is that requires virtual buttons, whereas I quite like physical ones like the Bose have.

Build quality on my XM4s at least is questionable and they creak very badly from of of the joints (which I'm hoping to get warrantied, as display models in shops don't do this).

If buying again I'd take whichever was cheaper, Bose if it's a tie.

This is good price considering these are the QC45s with a soft case.
