Good price, we got this for little lad's 'memory book' and the images are oustanding and won't fade in my lifetime.
It's straightforward to use but I recommend putting a watch on ebay for a battery as it makes it so much nicer to use IMHO.

concur, best photo printer. I've tried a few, and seen ones friends have and the Canon made the best ones. Just one word of warning, the "ink" they use can reveal your photos when you dispose of it. So if it has pictures of your kids or something you might want to destroy the used cartridges

How to destroy them like stamp on it or take an hammer to it?

    Worth upgrading from cp1300?

no. I have this one, and my parents have a 1300. it's not any better quality. doesn't have any different features. prints at the same speed, and the screen on the 1500 is smaller. it's essentially just a different design.

I have an older Canon Selphy printer (CP1300) and the print quality is awesome.

Despite my CP910 being a bit dated, it seems that print quality isn't solely tied to the printer model but rather to the paper used, as per various online reviews.
For example, pictures I printed six years ago on genuine Canon paper still retain their vividness.
However, my experience with off-brand paper wasn't as successful; the colors didn't last, which was quite disappointing.
The genuine Canon Inkjet Cartridge and Papers isn't cheap.

I don't understand why people buy this when you can get photos professionally printed for cheaper

Good point, just convenience and speed to get prints means more likely to actually get photos printed. I’m personally tempted but can’t justify from cost or environmental perspective

Anyone know how much it costs to print one photo based on ink and paper costs?

Well you can get canon brand paper from £30 to £39.99 depending on where you get it. Its also include ink with 108 sheets of photo paper in the box
