So if you are only going to cast things from your phone, there doesn't seem to be a benefit, and some people say that the ultra is better for casting.
If you want to have the ability to browse a UI with the remote to select what to watch and use android TV apps, then this might be worth having.
It might be considered a sidegrade rather than an upgrade.
I personally have an Ultra and don't see a need for this.
I had an Nvidia shield android TV device but recently got rid of it, as I only really use the YouTube app on my TV and then use my Chromecast ultra the odd time for casting. Also I like the photo frame feature on the ultra that displays when I switch my TV on. (edited)
Mostly watching iPlayer and channel 4 at the moment, occasional Rakuten film rentals.
