A little cheaper from Amazon France but personally I'd spend the extra £6 on this knowing I'll not have to jump through hoops if I have to return it for some reason.

Direct purchase from Crucial is a better choice since at similar price the heatsink is included. Good find though.

Not bad, but the 500TB! version is even better value. (edited)

I wonder if they are going to release a 4tb version of this one? :/

Not sure why they haven't as of yet, possibly just going to come out in the next iteration rather than added to version..

    I'm itching to jump onto a sub £200 gen4 7000+ MB/s drive when they eventually arrive, I just can't justify £350/400 for a fast gen4 nvme drive

I've only got 2 m.2 slots for my data and some of the projects I work on are 400+gb, if i've got a couple of copies /modified versions of the project i'm working on then I'm running out of space on a 2tb drive ;-

Nice find OP...I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it...oh what the hell, I'm off to buy one - the curse of compulsive buy from HUKD strikes again!!! (edited)

Bro Amazon is short changing me! Bought it 116 3 weeks ago, got a £10 refund when it was recently reduced, now this?!

990 Pro 2TB £157 on Amazon, plus £50 cashback from Samsung that ends today. Making it £107.

This or wait for 970 plus Evo 2tb to go down to £80?

For external drive in enclosure mostly movies and TV shows. Might want to transfer over to my solidigim p44 pro currently my internal drive. Will I realistically see any difference in transfer speeds between p5 or 970?
    ChAdOx1's avatar
    No, not as external drive

This has much worse IOPS than the 980Pro. I'm gonna wait till 4TB version comes out otherwise I would have gone for this. Also not sure how much it will impact DirectStorage with it being a little slower.

    I'm waiting for 4TB for £100.
