Wanted to order alongside a couple of games in their 2 for £20 (to offset the horrific postage cost) offer but Game's website is so laughably poor that the discount wouldn't apply at checkout no matter what I tried.

No wonder they're struggling.

good game etc. but why do they insist in treating us like fools? how can a digital item be a limited edition? making more copies of the same thing costs nothing in the digital world.

That's not how it works. Even if let's say digital was infinite, physical editions wouldn't be and psychical limited editions definitely wouldn't be.

This isn't for digital.
