sorted byThere are issues with some Q boxes that mean you have to jump through hoops and compromises to get them to work together.
I don’t know about other AVR manufacturers, I’m led to believe others are affected too.
Just a word of warning.
Cheers
Nobby.
It does sound great but these little niggles shouldn't exist in such an expensive bit of kit.
You can change sound modes to utilise all speakers during listening, i.e. all stereo mode when not in discrete Dolby Atmos.
The Denon amps also remember the setting according to the output i.e. on my amp it switches according to the output of my Nvidia Shield playing movies in Atmos Dolby D etc.
When I watch normal tv it plays in all stereo mode but will switch to Dolby Digital when there is a source on tv i.e. BBC1 HD broadcasting Match of the Day.
Hope this helps a bit.
In short the Denon will adapt according to your source and utilise the setup you have chosen when the full discreet channel is not supported.
Now I am with Virgin still having no problems with the Denon
