Good deal but as the product name on their website is a bit misleading, the standard 18v battery will not work with this. You will need the flexvolt battery

I really wanted to get this. Until I used it once and I wouldn't buy it even for half of this price. Plastic teeth for grabbing the log (which basically don't work at all) and in my neighbours case - dripping oil - made me wait few years until dewalt will make something useful. Newer models don't have quick chain tensioners... I really wanted dewalt chainsaw.

BTW voted hot as the price is amazing (edited)

ive seen these in real life. Not used but watched someone cut a tree stump in half (a demo of sorts) it did it quite well. Id put in the camp of low to maybe mid petrol chainsaws. It was much lighter than saws I've used before, even with the large battery in it (flex 9ah). they let us hold them after the demo and felt nice. shame ive no use for one

if u need to cut a few logs now and then and you have the larger flexvolt batteries, then it might be worth it for you. Its a good price given current prices

I’ve used the 54v version of this and the makita 36v duc353. I’m in the makita battery system (so wanted to like the makita) but the dewalt was noticeably more powerful, keeping the chain speed very constant, even under pretty heavy cuts through seasoned yew and hawthorn. The makita is ok for what I need and I’ve already got the batteries so there wasn’t a decision to be made really. The stupid button with timeout on the makita does regularly annoy me though - I’d love to link it out somehow!
