Many of the city’s fabulous museums and galleries can also be found here, including the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum which are located around the aptly named Museumplein. Both are must-sees for any art lovers and artists! At night, the city comes alive as its vibrant bar and nightclub scene kicks into action. • Includes unlimited luggage.

Could be a good deal for someone moving to the Netherlands

They'd need to check the Terms and Conditions to ensure there's no 'One Way Penalty' fee. When there were cheap Channel day crossings years ago people would just buy them and go on holiday with a single return ticket back. The ferry operators cottoned on and started to charge them for not using the return ticket.

So you're stuck on a ferry for a night, get dropped off in another town, have 5 hours in Amsterdam, then back on the bus and another ferry? Why would anyone choose that as an option when flights are so cheap??
    PAULTRD's avatar
Same ferry back but it has several bars, restaurants cinema screens and duty free shops as well as entertainment. Really adds to the experience if you have sea legs. Also I'd like to see you get two nights in a hotel and flights for £57pp (edited)

The ferry doesn't arrive to Amsterdam. It arrives to Ijmuiden and the coach goes from Ijmuiden to Amsterdam. (edited)

It is not a cruise it’s a ferry trip.

How does this compare with the P&O cruises from Hull?

The issue I find with those is the length of the coach ride!

I did this one 20 years ago. Biggest issue with the 2 night cruise is that you only really get about 8-9 hours in the city centre itself. The all you can eat World buffet was decent at the time from memory.

Phoenix nights entertainment on the high seas. Done it a fair few times - great! Unless it is very choppy! (edited)

This is literally cheaper to buy direct, dont waste your money on Wowcher who at the best of times can be sketchy.

    This is not a deal.

Was just thinking we got this deal for £150 for 3 of us and we're taking the car across and back again direct with dfds when they have sales. It's not that great a deal with Wowcher but I know from working with them in the past they often take a 15-20% cut for themselves

Ne1 offers have it for £99 for 2 without fizz but think it needs to be booked by 9th March, this is more for people who just want a good pix xx up

I am not sure the price includes coach transfers to Amsterdam as cannot see this on offer. If not included seems about the same price with DFDS direct.

Whenever any company uses the word 'fizz' it usually means the quality of whatever theyre serving would be more accurately described with a 'p' than an 'f' lol

"Chill out with a pint of Dutch beer in hand in one of the huge city centre plazas or don your dancing shoes for a night of heavy beats in the dance music capital!"..... But remember to be back for your coach at 4pm!

went last year, we wanted to see what it was like.. the ferry was better than i expected. Far from luxury but better than I imagined. the clientele was worse than expected ( it was a weekend ) kept up all night listening to fighting etc. Amsterdam was a very short visit just over 4 hours- as we had a delay on arrival.. the bus was full of stag party with hang over- was awful..The company and all the staff were brilliant, the food was decent, drinks were reasonably priced
I wouldn't rush back- but anyone who wants a cheapy night away and to explore a new city go for it ! maybe avoid the weekend if you want a quiet one !

Went last year! Had a great time well worth the money- saved that bringing back four litres of branded spirits

You can book this cruise without buy the wowcher voucher at the same offer direct at DFDS link
    dfds.com/en-…fer
saves the hassle unless you want TCB/quidco for the voucher.

Also if you want the breakfastits cheaper to add breakfast for two at £24.20 than the extra £30.00 it adds on.

    I did this last year.

The foot passenger bridge had an issue on arrival, so we had to wait for all the cars to offload first
By the time we got through passport control and the coach journey to Amsterdam, we only had 3 hours until the coach back.
Not sure if this was a one off or a common occurrence
    Also the rooms are tiny!

Still a pretty good deal though.

I was under the impression that most people who would book this deal either lived in or around Newcastle/Durham/Teeside, not much point booking this unless you do imo :/
    PAULTRD's avatar
I live in South Bucks and booked last month for Easter weekend. Why do you say not much point?

Do not buy with wowcher !! It will be your nightmare to contact ?

I did the Newcastle one last year it was great for the money but you only get about 4 ish hours in Amsterdam by the time you have got through passport control and a 40 min bus ride to centre it adds up -
Great fun I would do it again-

But Hull is much closer to me and you get I think about 8 hours in Amsterdam so my next trip will be that one -they are more expensive though

the 2 nights on the ferry are great...all you can eat grub with tons of choice...curry? tick! roast dinner? tick! Entertainment. Although I think the mini-Casinos have gone? IIRC the coach took an AGE to get to town...90mins I seem to recall. Biggest letdown was Amsterdam itself...what a hole! 2 parts to it: a modern town rebuilt since WW2 like most towns so the usual range of shops etc you can in any big city; the awful red-light area. If only P&O still ran the Hull-Zeebrugge route....cos Bruges, now that's a pretty city!
  22. hamsterboy's avatar
The best bit is the queuing. You queue to get on, then oh boy is there a queue to get off, then through border control then to wait for a bus. Jeeeeeeeeeez. Few hours wherever you go, then the fun of queuing on the way back begins!! Woo woo! Or should that be Queue Queue!?! (edited)
