Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles. ― Google

For hotel, have a look on TUI for "hotel only" - seems like you can go for under £400 (£200pp)

    Flights (including a 20kg Suitcase for 2) - £145

    Hotel - £216 for 1 week

    Transfers - £27 (holidayextras)

The Greek island with the world's greatest PR team. You can complete it in 3 days tops or avoid it and you won't have missed anything.

If you intend to use public transport it's best to stop in Fira, that's the main transport hub. You have to go to Fira via bus before anywhere else on the island - more transport cost, more time and much more hassle (busses are always packed) to stay anywhere else. (edited)

Never been. You're not a fan then?
Any alternatives that you can recommend?

So not £44.60 return then. Each way without bags?

I flew without bags for 2 weeks during covid.. paid for a bag on my return as I forgot you couldn't carry wine on board.

I been here 18 months ago. I agree one of the biggest PR stunts in world. It's just a extremely windy rock , nothing on it except the place where people take pics in Oia. It's so expensive and service everywhere disgusting. Overcrowded and super windy and day and night.
