East Midlands Railway summer sale from £10

I know it's not really comparable, but if you're booking in advance, you can usually get much cheaper trips by coach, if you're not in a desperate rush to get there.

For example, Flixbus are going from Nottingham to London on 24JUL for £5.99, whilst National Express are £6.90 - both one way. You could conceivably get a return coach ticket for less than one way on the train.

This is what is so pathetic of EMR since they have been taken over by Abellio they hardly ever do any seasonal offers for our area compared to Northern who did the £1 flash sale recently and if it is it's just to London. They should do something similar for journeys to some of the smaller destinations in our area to boost the east midlands economy that people could visit for the weekend or day trips like Matlock, Newark, Market Harborough etc even Skeggy!

all nice and good with the offer, but it costs me more just to get into London then from London i then use this to travel outwards... Shame they dont just offer £10 wherever i am (even if i liev closer to leicester).
