Virgin was down a few months ago and I had to use my phone to connect to the PS5, wasn't sure how much data it would use! Think I was on Warzone for 3 hours and in PS Party Chat at the same time, I used about 400mb was shocked how little it used
Same here argos.co.uk/pro…310
I think or my understanding is we already have the game downloaded and all you're doing for online is adding the characters themselves which must use very little data, the full game is already there if you get me yours just moving cars or the people around.
My mate at work doesn't have the net but has 100GB on his phone, I told him that more than enough to go online (edited)
What I do for my consoles and works great with Smarty
amazon.co.uk/EE-…M4C
The Smarty deal is for 1 month. For 1 year, it would cost £144.
This deal is 120GB for 1 year. If 120GB is enough for you for a year, then this is cheaper.
You can get the SIM only for £50: argos.co.uk/pro…310. Also available from e.g. Amazon: amazon.co.uk/dp/…M4C.
If you're only wanting to use it as a SIM for your tablet, this would be cheaper. (edited)
Just buy a cheap phone and have it permanently plugged in as hotspot...
Everyone's needs are different obviously but this works better for me.
The problem for me (e.g. when out and about) is battery drain on the phone and having to faff on with enabling and disabling phone hotspot settings, etc.
I could use a power pack for the phone but then it's having that extra device/item hanging off my phone. At least the dongle can be set down and left somewhere. (edited)
Wear and tear on your phone battery….and convenience mate! Is it not best to just have a dedicated Wi-Fi hotspot? Instead of fiddling about with activating hotspot on your phone + Wi-Fi dropping issues?
True but for me again it's about the convenience. I ordered this and was ready to go out of the box.
Sad, as an existing EE customer, I can't that that much data for £7.50/month SIM only. And they don't even have to give me a router...
Do you have any recommendations for a decent price mobile wifi router and external antenna
yes it is! and you would be better having a mobile wifi router that has possibility for an external antenna
Agreed I don’t understand how it doesn’t use loads of data it’s the same with me on gta 5 it’s great
Cheaper again to use public WiFi - probably give a similar bandwidth to Three on a bad day!
OP the SIM is £50 at RRP (admittedly a Billy Bargain) - not sure the Mifi is worth £40.
I read somewhere it's the party chat that'll use most of your data. No that it's a lot anyways. I take my Xbox away with me when I'm working and staying in hotels. Think the most I used was about 4GB and that was about 8 days worth of after work gaming lol.
You can get this EE offer of 120GB of data for a year SIM only for £50 instead so just over 4 quid a month for 10GB of monthly data on average.
For existing EE customers? Please provide a link - I couldn't find a reference for it.
Can't believe I missed that they were comparing a 1 month 100GB to a 12m 120GB. As for how on earth two comments recommending three based solutions are the top comments - words fail me - HUKD can still shock me!
See the post I quoted above yours.
Thanks. Potentially good use for an old phone (to be dedicated as the "MiFi")
