Reviews on Studio... most of the 1-star are for smashed screen or wrong, smaller TV received!

Linux is Android , or am I missing something
    chancooluk's avatar
    You are missing something.

Android is based on Linux, as is the OS that this TV runs (VewdOS/Vestel Hub), but it is not the Android OS. (edited)

After a lot of searching of specs and pictures of the rear of this tvs on Pye auctionsI have concluded this is identical to the digihome bl23 55 inch tv. I have ordered to replace the 50” digihome for my bedroom. That tv has given me excellent service.don’t think you can go wrong for the price

As long as the couriers don't break it. Like some customers reported.

Another vestel with a different badge
    James_Harking's avatar
Which goes to show most of these cheap TVs are really the same when you strip away the "badge."
  6. BrianButterfield's avatar
I'd rather no OS and they just make the cheap TV fast, then I'll add the smart bit myself. Edit: I also do not believe it was ever that original price as I can find literally zero on this TV. (edited)

All modern TV's have an OS even if it's not smart.

how is it possible to have a 55" UHD TV with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for £210?

Are those latter certifications somewhat meaningless akin to the lower ratings of displayHDR for monitors?
Does the display need to meet a certain specification to be labeled HDR10 or Dolby Vision compatible? Or just be able to play a HDR / dolby vision format regardless of how well it performs doing it?
    chancooluk's avatar
Just to be able to play the formats. Dolby Vision does help displays with lower brightness though, but obviously HDR with more brightness / impact is reserved for the £600+ TV's.

    NICAM!
  9. Python's avatar
Hmm, tempted, but whats the catch?
    chancooluk's avatar
It looks like the catch is poor courier service. The TV should more than out-perform it's £209 price as long as it gets delivered intact.
  10. ashyt16turbo's avatar
Good price if it's any good and £20 off with 037 for first timers. (edited)

    What resolution is this
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
I'm guessing UHD by the model name.
  12. Tim2011's avatar
That's a lot of TV for very little money. Tempted.
  13. gers1872's avatar
Just ordered one. 55” tv for just over £200? Don’t mind if I do!
  14. Taksim_Red's avatar
Being unicable compatible enables multiple recordings at the same time, if using a unicable LNB.
  15. jimthebin's avatar
Tracking at £11.86 and £8.50 on Quidco so once it makes its mind up it could be sub £200

the 50 inch is £3.58 per inch posted to ni, with 015 code and thats paying in one go
the 55 inch is £4.16 per in posted to ni
    ni postage is £19.99

If Linux wonder if this can have other apps installed?
    chancooluk's avatar
It has a basic app store, but this isn't Linux like a desktop OS (Ubuntu) or a smartphone OS (Android). The entire front-end UI of the OS is written in HTML, and the apps that it runs are HTML web-apps.

Absolute clumsy fekkers. Who delivered it? Wasn't the box damaged too? (edited)

Mine has arrived with a different stand than the one advertised on the Studio website.
50797133-nObXb.jpgHaven't got it opened yet to see if it actually is in working order.
