    i assume this is to prevent children from opening what this is attached to,cos if you go by 1 reviewer, There is a hole(reset button) on the side of the lock, use a tool to hold this reset button, and then put in the new combination, release the reset button and now your new combination will now be in effect.

    most combination locks have a reset button, nothing new, you usually have to do 2/3 specific things to the lock to perform the reset!
