Is it a hot deal? Yes because it's much cheaper than elsewhere. Costco membership required.
RRP is £279.
John Lewis is currently £279.
Amazon is £200.
Eufy's own website is selling it on offer for £200 (let me know if a discount code becomes available again).
If it's cheaper elsewhere, please let me know!

There was a recent deal for £120 ish but that's over now and I don't have a time machine.

SECURITY CONCERNS? Do whatever research you like and make a decision for yourself. Can they see your cloud based footage? Probably yes. Did they lie about it? Probably yes. But whether this deal is hot or not should be on the value of the deal, not on the merits of the gadget.

In terms of tech specs, this is excellent, and no monthly subscription like Ring and Google Nest require.

Utter rubbish. Get Ring instead and live free from security flaws/ hacks!

Lol you think Ring is free from security flaws/hacks? The whole controversy is because Eufy claimed not to store the cloud based footage, but it turns out they did.
Ring, on the other hand, never even made such claims. Instead, how about Ring passing your footage to third parties (police enforcement) without your knowledge, and openly admitting it? No user consent or warrant either. (link)

Besides, I'd rather have the superior resolution, pan and tilt field of view, etc. so there are pros and cons to different devices.

Just be warned it does not record 24/7 BUT you can set it to to max sensitivity to record motion. It captures about 95% of things happening outside, this will fill up the local storage quickly though. It’s compatibility with the HB3 might be arriving in June but the date has been pushed back a few times so take that with a grain of salt. Additionally it’s not a pixel based sensor (which RING HARDWIRED devices use. WAY more accurate) even though it’s hard wired it’s a traditional PIR sensor. (edited)

According to Eufy website it's already compatible, have you tried and failed recently?

I’m kind of tempted but don’t know why as I already have the Gen 2 2K floodlight which works fine. (And it only cost me £99)

Would be all over it if it did 24/7 recording...why won't they enable this if it's mains powered?!

Apparently there might be a way to do 24/7 recording with a NAS, there was some comment in the other deal post.

I would have been tempted if it was 24/7 would have been perfect. Not sure why this is not 24/7 when it’s hardwired. Am I missing something on why it can’t be 24/7
