This is considerably cheaper than anywhere else I've able to find it for, strange this hasn't been released over here yet

I have the Dutch release and it only has Dutch subtitles. Which is an issue because part of the movie is in Manderin.
Don't get this version unless you speak Dutch or Manderin.

    Edit:
Or French, the subtitle options are Dutch or French. (edited)

Rubbish film, switched it off at the stupid bendy long fingers bit, so tedious and random.

Maybe I'm from a different universe to the "experts" who thought it worth those Oscars

Free on Amazon prime, at least it was when I watched it

It's always a pretty good indicator, if something's nominated or wins an Oscar, it's likely to be a load of crap or silly nonsense.

In 70 years some film buffs will watch through 2020's Oscar best picture winners and when they get to this they will wonder how on earth it ever won so many awards.

Maybe we are in the really weird dimension where this won things.

I gave up on this film half way through.
Not sure what the fuss was about.

It's an Oscar-winner, therefore pretty much guaranteed to be awful

If you stuck a Marvel logo on this film all of a sudden it would magically lose all those Oscar nominations...

Probably, there are similarities to Marvel, although spiderverse 2 is a strong candidate for Oscar Best Picture so maybe academy's attitude is slowly changing

I really liked it, and definitely had a lot of respect for how 'different' it was.

You really do have to watch it with some focus; not while playing on your phone or any other distractions, and you need to watch it ALL.

You may still not like it, and that's fine... but you need to give it a real chance.

As above you've got to pay attention and watch it all the way through. It only really comes together towards the end. Don't get me wrong, you still end up thinking 'what on earth did I just watch', but at least it's a bit more of a complete film by the end!!

And I also agree with the Oscars bit, as a rule I tend to avoid anything that gets an Oscar nomination now.

    Goodness this was awful.
I love films and will sit through the most tedious art house precociousness and the silliest B movie cringe, but I switched this off after a few minutes. There are only two movies I've binned and this was one of them.
If you like superhero multiverse genre or kung fu films then you might bear it longer than I did. As a rule of thumb, if something is getting Oscars in 2023 and the glitterati are gushing over it, then it's guaranteed to be irritatingly "updated for modern audiences" in some way

Hadn't even heard of this until I randomly watched bits of the Oscars the other night and see how many awards it won. Its on the list

It's the film with biggest Oscar sweep probably since Slumdog Millonaire
Since preferential balloting was put in about 10,12 years ago
Films have been more fairly rewarded, though this just won Everything no pun intended
My instinct is that next year Spiderverse 2 will become first sequel since Godfather 2 to win Best Picture

This was a minority appeal genre movie that should NEVER have won major Oscars. No art-house movie ever should- that is just a slap in the face for the wage-slaaves who keep Hollywood afloat by consuming their popular films.

Some people liked this film a lot- far more haated it (nothing wrong with very narrow appeal movies made at low budget- actually that's a good thing). But the major Oscars should celebrate MAINSTREAM Hollywood for obvious reasons, otherwise politeeks kicks in with minority appeal PC films getting awards while other minority appeal movies (with the 'wrong' content) get locked out.

PS most of you here will dislike the film with a vengeance. However, it is actually a good 'multiverse' movie.

Probably the best stoner movie I've ever watched.
