I jumped on the ryobi 16g at 170 and at the weekend it drove 65mm brads through 70mm of wood without blinking, it has solid reviews but it is quite a bit more money

This got mostly great feedback when last on offer in 2021 and if anyone can confirm this will take Worx and Bauker 18v batteries, then this is an even better deal!

Worx, wickes, baulker, ferrex, workzone and a few others work on this.anything that's positec really.

It takes 18 gauge brads up to 50mm and crown staples up to 40mm. 18 volt batteries from older Workzone power tools should work fine, but you'd be hard pushed to discharge the supplied battery over a single day's worth of nailing (400 nail strikes to discharge the battery!) and it recharges in an hour. Fabulous value.

No, I don't think they are. I've emailed them, apparently it'll back in stock in May.

Yes your right but they really should state the staple/nail sizes so your not left saying

Absolutely fab 2nd fix gun for price , I used to cart around compressor etc, my only concern was battery running out mid job , but picked up backer battery which is the same
a must for diy and trade alik

I have one and it was a god send for putting all new skirtings and facings on. It jammed twice and that was after around 200 nails. 2 min job to unjam. That impressed, I've reccomended it to friends.

Terrible always get jammed up I have one. You get what you pay for

Then take it back. Its got a 3 year warranty. Can't find the receipt? If you bought it on a credit card and remember the date/store, call customer services and they will find the transaction.

The other more usual cause of problems like this is using the wrong nail/staple.

Got mine today, been great so far put together a small crate using old palet wood for garden storage, fires through the 50mm nails fine, have ordered some shorter nails now off amazon. Staples that come with also work well fire fine.

The battery is the same as my blueridge battery (from my cordless strimmer, i think same as older worx batteries) although my newer worx battery although seemingly the same battery has slightly different plastic tabs so doesn't slide onto this.

Anyway battery last more than i could use in a day anyway and the charger is faster than old blueridge one (1.5amp vs 400ma).

I had one of these a few months back when they were £84.99. it lasted around 2 hours before it stopped firing properly. It went back to positework, they said they could not repair and I got a refund....

  28. RCAnderson's avatar
Very tempted by this, and keep almost buying one, but not really sure if I actually need it, as I usually just screw things together instead...

Thoughts on using this to attach feather edge cladding to a shed/storage box, and for attaching architrave round doors?

I met a land lady yesterday. Her and her husband done all the work to their houses in the last 25yrs.
And you have this lovely lady

    Reminds me of this joke...

Two carpenters are nailing up siding one day. The first carpenter grabs a nail from his pouch, examines it, and then tosses it in the trash. He proceeds to grab another nail, examine it, and then hammers it into the siding. He repeats this process several time. Finally the second carpenter turns to him and asks "Why are you doing that?" to which the first carpenter replies "Half of these nails have the head on the wrong end!" The second carpenter says back to him "You idiot! Those are for the other side of the house!"

I agree mine has had a lot of use (over 2000 50mm brads) and has been great. Occasionally jams but always easy to un jam and straight back to work.

Might be QC issues with cheaper tools

I've been eyeing up nail guns over the last couple of weeks and couldn't bring myself to fork out a few hundred £s for the occasional DIY use (or for one large task). Plus there isn't a cordless nail gun in the branded range I already bought in to so it doesn't feel so painful going for this. Plus the £50 impact driver I could also make use of will give me a backup battery
