All aboard Alnwick’s new tourist bus that connects major attractions and town centre
A new free bus service is being trialled in Alnwick this summer in a bid to boost visitor numbers at Alnwick’s major attractions and the town centre.

The “Alnwick Attractions Bus” will run on a circular route linking the attractions and stopping in the town centre seven times a day between 10am and 4pm, starting on the hour from Greenwell Road Car Park D.

The bus will call at the Visitor Information Centre at Alnwick Playhouse, The Alnwick Garden, Lilidorei, Barter Books, Aln Valley Railway, Howling Lane visitors’ car park, Alnwick Castle (also for Bailiffgate Museum), Alnwick Market Place and Bondgate Within. Each circular journey will last approximately 50 minutes. The bus will carry passengers between these stops free of charge to encourage and facilitate more visits to all the attractions in addition to the town centre’s vibrant range of independent retailers and national chain stores.

The bus will be provided by Alnwick’s NEED Ltd. Community Transport and is being funded by contributions from Alnwick Town Council, The Alnwick Garden, Lilidorei, Alnwick Castle, Barter Books, Alnwick Chamber of Trade and The Aln Valley Railway.

The bus service will operate between Saturday 22nd July and Sunday 3rd September.

It's a pity this bus doesn't link Alnwick with its nearest train station at Alnmouth just 3 miles away. I know there's the X18 bus but that only runs hourly and doesn't always connect with the trains. (edited)

Good idea, we all visit places but probably don't know about all the best stuff to see

Don’t forget to go in Barter Books in the old railway station. Interesting even if you don’t like books. I’ve spoken to people who been to Alnwick who didn’t know about it. Didn’t go into the castle but the gardens are interesting for families. I am not connected just visited while on holiday in fantastic Northumberland.

Visited for first time this summer. It’s nice and they have plenty of seating but their books are crazy money for 2nd hand. The cafe is even more expensive than the average National trust property.

A shuttle from Alnmouth station would be better for bringing tourists into the town.
Add a stop at pretty Alnmouth village which is also worth a visit.

The leaflet in the OP says it's to September 10th, did they chop it by a week? (edited)
