Good low price for the 55, couple quid less than most other places, but a full reduction from RRP of £60

Take your running to the next level with the Garmin Forerunner 55 GPS Watch, a smartwatch that features a wrist-based heart rate monitor and delivers personalised training guidance and advanced wellness tracking.

Run Performance Tracking
The Forerunner 55 is an easy to use smartwatch built for runners. The smartwatch tracks your every move with a wrist-based heart rate monitor (see Garmin.com/ataccuracy) and integrated GPS which tracks how fast, how far and where you’ve run.

PacePro
Built for your run training as well as race days, the watch features PacePro™ which provides GPS-based pace guidance for your selected course of distance (Forerunner 55 is not compatible with on-device courses. Pace guidance is GPS-based only).

Running Tools
The Forerunner 55 features plenty of unique and incredibly useful running tools. The smartwatch helps you train and race smarter with race time predictions and finish time estimates.

Multisport Profiles
However, you want to workout, the Forerunner 55 is ready to track all your movements with built-in activity profiles for running, cycling, track run, virtual run, pool swim, Pilates, HIIT, breathwork and more.

Wellness
Tune in with the watch’s advance wellness features including intensity minutes, fitness age, all-day respiration and many more.

Customisable
Make the Forerunner 55 your own with incredible customisable features including free watch faces, data fields, apps and widgets from the Connect IQ™ Store (Requires Garmin Connect™ app and Connect IQ™ app loaded on compatible smartphone paired to Forerunner 55; see Garmin.com/ble).

Extensive Battery Life
Keep running for longer with the watch’s extensive battery life – which provides up to 2 weeks of battery life in smartwatch mode, and up to 20 hours in GPS mode. The watch is also to recharge with the included USB charging cable.

This seems to be much better than a Fitbit of similar price. Two week battery life sounds fantastic, is it true?

Yeah if you won't use it for anything else just the time and notifications from the phone, that should be quite easy to achieve.

The technology has come down to a level where even this offers almost all the features you might want at a great price. I get the feeling paying for a Fenix or Epix is more about the aesthetic design and build quality than feature set. It’s a decent watch with great battery life, nice display, accurate and some smart features too.

A good deal, I found this a useful account of long term ownership of the 45, the slightly poorer sibling to the one in the deal

I don’t think the 45 is the poorer version, I think it’s the previous generation of the same tier of watch? So the 55 is the successor but they would occupy the same market segment.
