Is Gigaset any good with providing timely Android updates?

Wouldn't call them timely. Here's a list of updates one of their previous devices received . They seem pretty irregular but go on for as long as they promised. This one is supposed to receive security updates until mid 2025. There are some conflicting pieces of info regarding update to Android 13.50649756-7rxcl.jpg (edited)

Not familiar with this brand but looks good and a bargain at the price. Assembled in Germany, can't be bad. Notable feature is removable battery🔥

Maybe but can you buy replacements, :/

Notification LED and removable battery, pure nostalgia.

Ahhh the good old days of taking the battery out to reset your phone when it froze..

The Gigaset brand is well known in central Europe. It's basically Siemens, or rather its domestic affairs. I've used their landline sets for years and they're very good quality. Don't know about their mobiles. (edited)

Some of my phones have ended up a bit battered but don't usually start out that way :-)

USB-C, 3.5mm headphone socket, notification light, software updates for another 2 years, slightly smaller than the usual 6.5” screen, and from a quite well respected brand too.

At just over £100 I had to vote hot for such a good combination.

If the screen was just a bit smaller again I’d have probably bought this!

Same here. 6"screen sub £200 device. Even if only 1 in 10 people would choose a smaller device, that's 10% of the market. Why compete with 40 other big-screen phones for the market share when you can just grab the whole 10% market share without any competition.

Pearl White is OOS and Dark Titanium Grey is higher priced

Is this the cheapest removable battery Android phone by a long shot?

Samsung Xcover are all £300+, aren't they?

Problem is, this is so rare that GSMArena don't even list the specs.

    But removable battery!

Not sure if this is the cheapest one but I wouldn't buy anything cheaper. 4/64 +Helio g85 is about as low spec as you can go to have a usable device. Anything cheaper would be really slow and annoying to use.
