Looking for something like this, but battery powered/rechargeable - anyone got any suggestions?

Heat added btw, seems like a good deal

go wired.. if you don't want to drill holes.. the AC/DC power cable is so thin it can be run through a closed double glazed window without damaging either the window or cable or resulting in any heat loss..

Crazy price for these. I bought them for £23 and thought that was a great price. These can be used with batteries whoever was asking, just use a power brick as they are usb.

But why bother with a battery when you can run the thin AC/DC power cable through a closed double glazed window?

i do wonder if these unknown brand cameras will still be accessible in the coming years. if the company that own the server that streams the feeds stop operating then how would you access the footage remotely?

Remember in most cases the camera & app are not the same people, as long as the app is linked to a server you will be able to access the camera live view but if at any time the app is closed then they will continue to record, you would also then not receive notifications. Of all the cameras I have, so far none of the app servers have closed

As stated elsewhere they will continue recording to a microSD card, up to 128gb

I never expect any outdoor camera to last more than a few years in the UK weather

Can multiple cameras connect to the same app or is it just compatible with 1
    mkara's avatar
Was wondering the same. But I'm sure you can link more than 1 camera or it'll be it's own destruction if its only 1.

This any good, I got yi camera on sd card but I can't access it unless on WiFi
    sashablue's avatar
You should be able to access it from the app(on WiFi and Mobile connection) What model Yi cam do you have?

Worth a try at £18 thanks

As long as you don't mind potential Cyber security threats from cheap cameras, gaining direct access to your network (with questionable security features) and direct sight of your property.

Plus it's a spider friendly bullet so you can enjoy watching IR lit webs swaying in the breeze overnight.

Here's another good reason to buy a whole bunch of the same cameras when you see them on offer.

You can then have them fore and aft on your property but also fore and aft on your elderly parents property. All viewable in the same app. You can talk through these cameras and hear audio.

Thus in the same app not only can you watch your home.. you can watch your elderly parents' home too. Make sure nothing funny going on e.g. nottingham knockers, thieves, dodgy builders etc. They can also watch their own home of course if they have a smart phone or laptop tablet etc.. (edited)

Agreed it is a lot more convienent to stick to the same eco network. I have YI for most of ours but then have some others which use different apps, and it's annoying not being all in one place.
I suppose if you have ones that work with Google, you'd be able to view them all in the Google home app which would work too

Looking for something like this, but battery powered/rechargeable - anyone got any suggestions?

free ongoing cloud event storage fulfilled Amazon hovering around £30 for outdoor 2k-res rechargeable battery powered cam complete with solar charging panel, spotlight, colour nightvision, 2-way audio, siren, etc. Amazon ASIN:
    B0BC95B3Y4

Or alternatives if you don't want the solar recharge panel:
£22.99 fulfilled Amazon, respected Wansview app. Amazon ASIN:
    B0CBLLYPYH
or similar £25.99 FBA, EseeCloud app:
    B09R3TSDMW

If wanting to stay with same ecosystem for multiple outdoor / indoor / doorbell cams whilst still retaining free cloud event storage and optional local storage via microSD card, consider cams using interchangeable apps such as Vicohome, Longplus, Anlife, NGTeco. Recent rambling post mentioning those options at hotukdeals.com/com…661

Problem is that no battery or solar cameras are constant record, they are only record on detect, which I think is the issue as there are many battery cameras with or without cloud/sd options but constant record is never an option as it is with mains power as these tend t draw around 5W in constant record.

I tried leaving one of my battery cameras on constantly & it lasted less than 8 hours
  9. AndyRoyd's avatar
Correct, but equally often there is no benefit (other than wasting power) to record 24/7, especially if motion detection is efficient.
Majority of battery-powered cams will use PIR detection that eradicates false triggers from rain, snow, swaying branches, blowing leaves, etc,
but equally a PIR-based cam is unlikely to record a cold brick self-throwing itself through a window.

As usual, depends what the specific application is and/or the features required,
where often the paramount feature is easy install without drilling holes & no or little requirement for periodic charge.

Yes, but with most powered cams you do not need to drill holes as the cable will go through a double glazed window frame even when closed without damage to the cable or the window seal.

I use both wired & battery, I live in a listed building so cannot drill holes, I have hard wired through windows where I want constant record but have battery and solar away from the house but within range of the Wi-Fi to cover areas where cables are not an option.

Battery are not really an option either to locate at high enough locations to prevent them being reached by thieves etc, I do have one battery camera with solar at a high point in my garden.

I do have an issue with a couple of my battery cameras in that unless the target triggering the camera is walking toward the camera or in the detection area for a while it can miss recording if they are moving quickly, it may notify but record blank space (edited)
