  • Saving energy starts with your thermostat. Your thermostat controls 60% of your energy bill. So shouldn’t it help you save energy? The Nest Learning Thermostat does. Since 2011, it’s saved over 4 billion kWh of energy in millions of homes worldwide*. Because it learns from you. It gets to know the temperature that you like while you’re at home. And turns itself down when you’re away. It even learns how your home warms up or how draughty it is, so it only uses the energy that it needs
  • Auto-Schedule. Just turn it up and down. It learns the temperatures that you like and creates a schedule for you
  • Home/Away Assist. It automatically adjusts the temperature after you’ve left. It can even turn off your hot water if you’re away for a few days
  • Hot water. Now you can control your hot water tank. And give your hot water a boost when you need it
  • OpenTherm technology. Nest now uses OpenTherm technology to modulate your high-efficiency condensing boiler
  • Remote control. Change the temperature and control your hot water tank from anywhere using your mobile, tablet or laptop
  • Farsight. When the Nest Thermostat spots you across the room, it lights up beautifully to show you the time, temperature or weather

i love our nest, but please bear in mind you can only schedule hot water in 30 minute bursts, nothing less. my only gripe!

You can just turn it off halfway for 15 mins if needed?

I would just get the Nest E, it's an easier self install and functionality is barely different

This is hardly a deal when Screwfix has 10% off for app signups. You could get the thermostat for £141 (with cashback) a few months ago.

Thanks for your feedback. That deal may missed a post in the HUKD. But this seems to be the cheapest in the last 12 months (edited)

Has anyone noticed any difference with this when it comes to heating bills?

Yeah it learns that my wife keeps turning the heating up by ridiculous amounts, then automatically turns it up itself. I turned off all the learning functionality, the programming schedule is good though and can change temp via app or alexa.

So it's good in terms of ease of control, will it save you any money..? Depends how you use it and how you use your current thermostat... So I doubt it unless you are currently very wasteful.
