I have 2 of these, bought at the old full price. I can honestly say that these are some of the best tech buys I have made in the last 5 years. Superb quality. If they need more powerful processors it's only if someone wants to get a response in 1 millisecond rather than 2. They are as smooth as silk and just as beautiful. Mr Paddington needs to go back to Pera. (Sorry!)

ugh, wanting the new nexus 10 to come out or suitable alternative. can't bring myself to order this when a new one may come at any time! even Google announcing there will not be one would be OK

bezel is a bit big .

You can thank Apple's patent on "rectangle with rounded corners" for that.

In exactly the same boat. I flip-flop between 7 and 10 tablets galaxy tab (7"), then first gen tab 10.1, then a Nexus 7 and now want a 10" tablet but too fond of the Nexus brand to buy another brand.

Good price. Does anyone know if it is new or refurb and whether it has a warranty?

Nearly out of support, and the CPU is quite old by now. I know there is not a lot of competition, but this is not a great price.

I have iPad and Nexus 7 but would of thought the Nexus 10 has actually got faster under Kit Kat...not many devices can say that!

Drat! Bought one a few days ago for £314.99 from Expansys, got 2% Quidco though. I was pleasantly surprised it was the UK Edition not an import with a free adaptor.

haven't touched it with any hardware hitting games, but specs wise its as good or better than any other tablet i've seen for around £250

This is a good machine, but as mentioned at the end of its life. Seems awful, but it won't be supported for upgrades much longer. 18 months is all they will support devices and that's from the release of the device not from when you buy it.
With the new version out any time now process will fall much lower for this device soon.

It has kit kat, 2mb ram dual processor and top end screen res , still one of the best tablets out there. My only advice is you can get away with 16gb and then use a 'otg' on the go cable with media importer app for a few quid , plug any USB sticks in for extra memory.

I'm tempted by this, but like others have said, there is a pretty high chance that Google will release an updated version of this very soon, so I'm holding off.

Voted hot for the price though.

I am very much in the same boat. I have just moved back to an iPhone 5c from a Nexus 4 mainly due to imessage integration with my iMac. I also own a Nexus 7 2013 and iPad 4 and wife has a iPad mini. I think the Nexus 7 is by far the best 7 inch tablet around and Kit Kat is really smooth. If it wasn't for the iMessage thing i would have stuck with Nexus 4 as had one...sold one and got a Xperia Z...sold that and bought a Nexus 4 again as i preferred the build to the Nexus 5. The Xperia had some great features especially for watching Sky Go in the bath but I will never own another none stock android phone as all the crap manufacturers install on top ruins a great OS...Sony were pretty good with the Z but still the Facebook integration etc was annoying as just want to use the default app not some arsed Sony version when uploading pictures...the walkman app was good though! Basically if you don't have an Apple computer buy a Nexus 5 (4 not really around any more) or possibly a Moto G or X (though as these are not Nexus they are not guaranteed upgrades of the stock OS even though it is all good so far!)....Specs on any other device pointless without Kit Kat and bloatware installed! One good way round is the HTC One as you can flash the Play edition of the software onto it so have really nice premium device but with stock android...otherwise buy an iPhone or Windows 8 phone...stock OS updates and experience are so much better!

Along with the iPad this is the best 10 inch tablet around IMHO as stock Android....even if hardware is getting on a bit the screen is actually better then ipad (though not as many apps take advantage of it yet) and one of the key points of Kit Kat (Google latest android version) is that is runs smoother on older hardware as it requires less RAM...in short you would be very happy with this and 32GB is fine for most people (be aware on my Nexus 7 you actually get about 23GB free) and if you don't like this device...buy an ipad or windows 8 tablet as you won't find a better android device at the moment! the Toshiba has the same resolution as this but I would bet money this is the better device and better screen from all the reviews...and I own a Toshiba R830 laptop so no bias here!

I personally wouldn't pay so much money for one year old tech. The Excite Pro, while not perfect, seemed to me a better deal. To each his own.

In general I agree but it depends on if the product still preforms well...I bought a 128GB Cellualr iPad 4 off here for £429 before Christmas which although a year old seemed much better value than a new Air as I don't use it to play games with ever....for PDFs and media....same with the 5c i got....technically last years tech but fine. I do definitely prefer the new nexus 7 to the old nexus 7 but both are fine. Think it depends on how you use a device and price to performance....the Excite Pro is about £70 more then this but does have an SD slot...plus everywhere I looked said the screen was pretty disappointing in contrast to the glowing reviews for the Nexus 10...a pretty key factor on a tablet!
