I believe it would be the free Google storage that would tempt me. From what I remember it was unlimited right?

Bought one of these as needed a new handset ASAP and it arrived today. Love how small it is (going down from a 6.3" phone which I always hated after having an iphone SE for so long) and it arrived in excellent condition. Hopefully the battery turns out to be ok, seems alright so far.

can't remember which 'refurbished' Pixel deal I posted on recently but I said to you that I was adamant that my next phone would be a used one as this is the future from an environmental and ethical perspective.

As I was on a Pixel 6 bought 'new' in November 21, I thought when I bought it that I would be just using this 'new' Pixel for the 5 years of support it receives and maybe changing a battery along the way.

However, I have always found it a bit too heavy and big - chunky.

I've recently bought a used Pixel 5 Sorta Sage and have found the Pixel for me I think.

This phone is in great condition, nothing wrong with it and battery health is around 95% with Accubattery after a little while of using it too.

This leads me to question who abandoned this phone before it's 3 years of support were up.

I think the answer is probably fairly obvious. It will have been traded in for a 'new' Pixel 6a/7/7 Pro on the really aggressive trade-in deals that have been offered since their launches.

Now it's great that those 'new' devices come with 5 years of support and that ifixit now offer OEM battery replacement kits bit they've also generated a lot of unnecessarily premature trade-in of phones that have nothing wrong with them and are still supported (for a little while).

Google and/or Qualcomm should hang their heads in shame that these devices are not continuing support beyond 3 years. Samsung have retrospectively elongated support for some of their devices post launch (S20 FE being one such example).

What about my Pixel 6 though? I'm abandoning that for this Pixel 5. I will in turn resell my Pixel 6 and it will get more use but somewhere down the phone recycle chain, a phone will fall out of use every time we switch devices.

This is what makes the sales tactic of overly aggressive trade-in deals counterintuitive to the increased device support life that companies are now offering. They neutralise the good work with the bad.

I'm determined to keep this Pixel 5 beyond their derisory support life as it fits my needs out of a phone. Someone will in turn get a good condition Pixel 6 with just under 3.5+ years of support left and 93% battery health. (edited)

I've used the mate 20x for a good while now, and it sis only now beginning to show it's age, so will have to replace that at some point.

But I agree, buying used Refurbished is a great way of not only saving money, but also helping keep these devices in circulation and helping the environment.

So you aren't buying and selling anymore?

Is this one of the Pixel phones that Google has deprecated (yet)? I seriously wonder how long this will have before Google do, though.
