However, I have always found it a bit too heavy and big - chunky.
I've recently bought a used Pixel 5 Sorta Sage and have found the Pixel for me I think.
This phone is in great condition, nothing wrong with it and battery health is around 95% with Accubattery after a little while of using it too.
This leads me to question who abandoned this phone before it's 3 years of support were up.
I think the answer is probably fairly obvious. It will have been traded in for a 'new' Pixel 6a/7/7 Pro on the really aggressive trade-in deals that have been offered since their launches.
Now it's great that those 'new' devices come with 5 years of support and that ifixit now offer OEM battery replacement kits bit they've also generated a lot of unnecessarily premature trade-in of phones that have nothing wrong with them and are still supported (for a little while).
Google and/or Qualcomm should hang their heads in shame that these devices are not continuing support beyond 3 years. Samsung have retrospectively elongated support for some of their devices post launch (S20 FE being one such example).
What about my Pixel 6 though? I'm abandoning that for this Pixel 5. I will in turn resell my Pixel 6 and it will get more use but somewhere down the phone recycle chain, a phone will fall out of use every time we switch devices.
This is what makes the sales tactic of overly aggressive trade-in deals counterintuitive to the increased device support life that companies are now offering. They neutralise the good work with the bad.
I'm determined to keep this Pixel 5 beyond their derisory support life as it fits my needs out of a phone. Someone will in turn get a good condition Pixel 6 with just under 3.5+ years of support left and 93% battery health. (edited)
But I agree, buying used Refurbished is a great way of not only saving money, but also helping keep these devices in circulation and helping the environment.
So you aren't buying and selling anymore?
