I would not buy any thing but Grohe now. Brought one similar to this six years ago and still looks like the day i bought it. Not a speck of rust or chrome delamination in sight.

I'm not a fan of rain showers as pretty pointless to me, but if it's Grohe, then bound to be top quality.

We have a Grohe mixer tap and works like a dream.

grohe is nothing compared to hansgrohe

I've been in the bathroom industry for over 30 years and confirm that grohe and hansgrohe are considered the best in the industry. I've had a grohe shower valve for 20+ years with no problem

Question if I may? I had a generic shower fitted which looks similar to OP. After a couple years, the left hand on/off became impossible to turn. The plumber could not source a replacement cartridge and we ended up replacing the whole unit. Same thing is happening again after just over one year use. I've taken the cartridge out and sprayed with silicon but same issue. Do you think this shower would have same problems?

Mine arrived this morning, all bubble wrapped up but when I got past that the seal on the box had already been opened! Checked what I could and it does look to be all there but there are a myriad of parts and annoyingly what the crib sheet pamphlet has listed doesn’t correspond to what is actually written on the bags.

Was going to complain but it’s now OOS so I’ll see when it comes to fitting time if anything is missing.

Oh nearly forgot, the actual handles either end are made of plastic but the mixer overall looks to be of a good quality.

I wouldn't be put off by any German parts made of plastic. Again mine is over 20+ years and same plastic handles look perfect. All shower handsets should be plastic so if dropped they don't damage the bath or shower tray. I'd reccomend anyone change their brass, metal ones to plastic.

Had this same one fitted in our family bathroom for the last 2 years. I can also vouch for the excellent quality.

All the vitalio range is chromed plastic rather than metal I believe, the shower heads are and I wouldn’t be surprised if the handles for the bar mixer as well, anyone know for sure?

I have something like this, bought 3 years ago from Screw @ £79

Works like a Dream to this day, Self cleaning after I have showered.

Likely to be for high pressure systems only. Although I cannot see this listed.I would surprise if not listed as is key information for the customer

Had one of these a year and impressed with it. Gone for a 2nd one in other bathroom thanks OP.

I’ve gone ahead and got my son to order one, will let you guys/gals know what it plastic/metal when it arrives. The price for what to me looks like the same/similar item in the Grohe website is a bit of an eye opener.

can the piece at the top that connect to the wall be moved ( eg to fit the height of excising holes ?)
