Gritty British thriller starring Michael Caine. Harry Brown (Caine) is a widowed ex-serviceman living a quiet, modest life on a London housing estate. When his only friend Leonard (David Bradley) is brutally murdered by a gang of thugs on the estate, Harry becomes intent on avenging his death, and resorts to his own brand of vigilante-style justice in an increasingly lawless neighbourhood that has become overrun with gangs, guns and drugs. However, his attempts to clean up the estate inevitably bring him into conflict with the police, led by investigating officer DCI Frampton (Emily Mortimer) and Sergeant Hickock (Charlie Creed-Miles).

In England, retired Royal Marine Harry Brown spends his lonely life between the hospital, where his beloved wife Kath is terminally ill, and playing chess with his only friend Leonard Attwell in the Barge pub owned by Sid Rourke. After the death of Kath, Len tells his grieving friend the local gang is harassing him and he is carrying an old bayonet for self-defence. Harry suggests he to go to the police. When Len is beaten and stabbed to death, detective Inspector Alice Frampton and her partner Sergeant Terry Hicock are sent to investigate. They pay Harry a visit but don't have good news; the police have not found any other evidence, other than the bayonet, in order to arrest the hoodlums. This mean that should the case go to trial the gang would claim self-defence. Harry Brown sees that justice will not be granted and decides to take matters into his own hands.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Critics Consensus
Its lurid violence may put off some viewers, but Harry Brown is a vigilante thriller that carries an emotional as well as a physical punch, thanks to a gripping performance from Michael Caine in the title role. Read critic reviews

The Foreigner - Starring Pierce Brosnan and Jackie Chan (edited)
Caine absolutely nails his performance as an English gentleman pushed too far. Ben "Plan B" Drew is brutally good, showing his acting is every bit as good as his musical talents.
Chase & Status - End Credits (ft Plan B) is one absolute beast of a track. (edited)
