    Steer clear from this junk, if you don't want a fire hazard. It cannot be rinsed under tap since is not ip rated and it will short and either blow a fuse or melt your socket. I've had it and after a week of use I chuck it in the bin. Rather buy yourself a thermos cup.

    So should have a scorching cup of hot water in about 40minutes so long as you don't blow or melt a fuse.

    Jeese I remember having one of these about 15 years ago. It was terrible plasticcy tasting and very hard to clean due to the electrics .

    now that double skinned travel cups are common place these are far more practical and keep a drink warm at least 2 hours .  Unless you have a 5 hour commute these are not a good option
