One of those products that need boycotting until they drop the prices. IMO

We've stopped buying the big brands like Heinz. Unaffordable now. Even the own brands for some products are beyond the reach of most

The problem here is blatant price fixing by a big brand.
These 4 packs were £2.50 normal price until 3 months ago, and now a whopping 60% hike to £4.
This deal just takes it back to February's price.
People don't like being taken for fools, and will vote with their feet.

Sure, but if this is the one tinned soup that you (or a person you're buying for) like and there's nobody selling for less than 68p a tin you have 2 choices, pay the best available price or go without. Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco own brand soup is 75p. This soup is £1 a tin @ Tesco for clubcard members or 4 for £5 ordinarily. It's £1.70 a tin at sainsburys, or 4 for £4 (same @ Asda). This is the best price (by far) for this item. The fact these staple foods have skyrocketed in price is rubbish but this site is about deals for items here and now, not 6/12 months ago. (edited)

    All very true!
I think people are highly suspicious of steep price rises, followed by supposed deals.
In the short term, people look to the discount stores or own brands and buy in smaller quantities to lessen the price shock effect.
A similar reaction when Lurpak announced a massive price hike, everyone starts raving about Norpak & Danepak etc..
Eventually they might accept the new normal and return to their favourite brands.

Great price, but have to say can't believe how expensive soup has become now, along with so many other things..
