There have been much better TVs around this price point. Hitachi were a good brand a couple of decades ago.

I agree. They've been a house brand for Argos for ages.

Need a TV for the boy to play his games on in his games room. Opinions on this being sufficient?
Tbh it doesn't need to be 4k, so was looking at the similar priced LG. (edited)

Depends on what kind of setup you're aiming for (desk pc Vs couch console), but if it's exclusively for gaming then my preference would be a 27" 1080p/1440p 120-165Hz IPS monitor rather than a low-end 43-55" 4K 60Hz TV.

In terms of gaming performance TVs are *way* behind similarly priced gaming monitors.
To match even the budget-tier gaming monitors you have to go up to the absolute premium of TVs (£1000+).

    Hahaha, Cheap as chip!

Chips are not really that cheap anymore, weather they be potatoe or silicon based. The last time I had fish and chips, it cost me £8.50.

Not a bad price for 50 inches, but as already mentioned, might not be the best you can get at a similar sort of price.

It's a fine tv but little instruction. Did anyone manage to get wireless display working?
