Actually I’ve had four different plants from Homebase and B&Q in the last couple of years with vine weevil. When you have a pot based garden with lots of climbers, it’s a real pain if they get in as can decimate plants even if you do treat twice a year with nematodes. No need to be rude. It’s a great deal and you got a hot from me, but I’m just saying with chain stores that buy plants in on mass, always have a look in the pots to check for any vine weevil grubs.

justinm_

Some of the stuff people come up with is beyond! I've never had vine weevil in any of their plants! You probably just had an odd one!

bluep

Check very carefully for vine weevil if buying from Homebase - it's not unusual for them to infested unfortunately.

As of the time I posted, this was not mouldy or dead. Grass has grown a bit, but once laid properly and cut after a while this should be good. A bargain if you need to do a small patch or do a whole lot immediately. For 50p, i would give a try. Last time I had to do a party ch and tried was a good success.

Hmmm.... i personally beg to differ. I own and use Bosch Professional and my gaffer uses Milwaukee and i dont think theres much between them. I think the Milwaukee batteries last slightly longer but i thin the build quality of the Bosch Professional is much better. Thats only my personal opinion tho (highfive)

lollypoplee

I completely agree, for a 12 year old DIYer they will be perfect (y) (excited) (excited)

Sonnenblume

2.5ah batteries are going to be fine for all but continuous day-to-day use, particularly if you’ve two of them. The average DIYer will find them just fine

lekydave

Milwaukee is better

Smartguy1

The only problem I have encountered with ryobi batteries is they won't charge if they are cold. What seems to be a useless battery is easily remedied by putting putting it on a radiator for 15 minutes. Obviously only a problem in winter and not sure if this is the same with other lithium batteries. Mine have had some serious hammer and still have one from 2009 and another from 2012.

UK's cheapest cordless lawnmower? £99.99 at Homebase!

Found 8th AprFound 8th Apr
In Homebase today looking at the clearance garden furniture (not much left but got a wooden side table for £4.93!) and spotted these cordless lawnmowers. Ozito (Homebase/Bunnings … Read more
androidavis

Well I don’t think much of the build quality, plasticy, like a £45 corded let’s say. and the grass collection box was a bit of a pain to put together. On balance, I prefer it to my now broken flymo hover compact 330 (HC330); it’s easier with this wheeled one going continually forward rather than pushing the hover mower (which didn’t hover even without grass in the box) forward and back/side to side. A lot easier. But hey, Ozito are standing by this for 5 years and that helped make my mind up. Having einhell cordless diy power tools and Ozito cordless garden tools was another factor. All shared batteries and I have the fast chargers. I have the cordless pole hedge trimmer, pole chain pruner head for that - both excellent, and the cordless grass strimmer, and the cordless blower - which isn’t that powerful so you don’t save any time compared to just raking stuff from grass (ok for sheparding grass / cuttings off the patio). My take is if you have a small lawn this brushless cordless mower with only one 18v battery should do the trick. It looks like it won’t take rough treatment. But it’s cheap. Having said that, it’s got a 5 year warranty from Ozito, even though it’s made by einhell.

Besford

That's helpful. Any other comments? Did it do a good job?

ikky101

Much appreciated (y) 🏽

androidavis

Although I have this model I can’t answer that fully until the next time I mow the lawn. The product is pitched towards small lawns and that’s it only has one 18v battery. There’s no need for more in this category. I can tell you the following though: my lawn is about 16ft by 35ft rectangle. The grass was long because I last mowed it in the autumn. After unpacking the lawn mower I noticed some charge in the 3ah battery so decided to give it a test without charging it first. I set the lawn mower on the highest of the three height settings and managed to complete the whole lawn. I then grabbed a 2ah I already have that indicated fully charged, (though I haven’t used it since November) and completed the lawn with the mower on medium height setting. I then set the mower to its lowest setting to cut the grass shorter and I managed to complete the lawn before that 2am battery died on me. My guess is the 3ah battery is good for 3 goes around a lawn my size

Besford

Unfortunately no. WORX, Guild and Erbauer use the same as each other but it's not the same as Ozito and Einhell. There's an opportunity here for the EU or even our own government to act on the consumer's behalf and reduce unnecessary waste by obliging some standardisation on this stuff. Camera batteries too.

I got a folding side table for £4.93 in Solihull. No price on shelf, had to get them to scan it) - nothing else in old (green) packaging there though.

Looks like they did do a bench but not sure if any are about now - there are a few other items from that range still on the site that you can check stock of - not sure of the names of other ranges being sold off though.

It's all the old homebase branded stock that's being sold off cheap. The new range is still full price.

I'm not sure, the range for these is called Peru though. I saw a table, and a big 11 piece set with table , chairs, parasol that were in similar boxes but different styles I think, didn't look at prices of those though.

Oh and not that noisy at all in reality

Bought this just to prepare lawn before installing robotic mower. Does the job well. Very basic as to be expected - particularly the wheel adjustment mechanism - but pretty impressed for the price.

afrst

@ 96db it is (apparently) as noisy as a JUMBO Jet ?. Assuming a garden is not too big (and the neighbour has the same model), one might get away with ear damage with less than 8 hours of mowing. ;)

I wouldn't recommend it for lawn in your picture. :)

Well spotted by first poster, howver this isnt very good paint, it will require extra coats and can be greasy to apply, Try a TRADE emulsion at one of the various trade centres their cheaper brands are all pretty good Amstead, Leyland,TRADE, Macphersons, it goes lot further, it is tougher finish, and covers much better than the retail paints,. Once you try the Trade gear you wont go back

1 of each size instead of 2x3l so total liters should be 112.14 liters rounded to 112 liters instead of 115 liters as stated on site.

edwardo1973

Just how useful are these boxes?

sofaclass

A great deal for some really useful boxes :D

noddle36

it also says 7 piece in the title "Really Useful 7 Piece Storage Tub Set" but should be 8 as stated in the description "Seven sizes - 1x64L, 1x35L, 1x9L, 2x3L, 1x0.7L, 1x0.3L, 1x0.14L" a little confusing with what to expect as it might be a typo and maybe only be "1x3L". Also says in the description details: Capacity: 115 litres total Set includes 7 storage boxes of various sizes so adding up all the boxes stated in description size 64L + 35L + 9L, + 3L +3L+ 0.7L + 0.3L + 0.14L = 115.14 Liters Sorry just realized I added the 3L twice so might be 2x3L as stated where there is 8 boxes but if you take off the last 0.14L box to make 7 boxes the total in liters comes to 115 Liters as stated in the descriptions details :/ So confusing I think they need to put right.

cmjevins

Very good boxes and this is a fantastic price.
