I've got a couple of these and they're very good. Don't let anyone tell you they're "quiet" though.

They're not noisy by any means, but certainly not as quiet as they're made out to be.

Agreed. I don't mind the noise as I normally sleep with a white noise app, this does 2 jobs in one for my needs 😁

Got one of these 2 years ago for £15; it is very powerful (I rarely have it on max speed) but as others say, it is not quiet.
It cannot really be compared to a little USB fan.

How much better is this Honeywell than the Russell Hobbs that looks very similar but is £9.08?
    Thanks

That's a good deal. This Honeywell is 3 speed and the Russel Hobbs is 2 speed but I'd go with the later given the price difference ATM. I have the Honeywell one that I got for like £14 earlier in the year so this deal isn't actually a very good price for this fan. (edited)

Got one one these last year on offer. Decent fab great price , but as mentioned definitely not "quiet" (edited)

    Decent little Zwift fan

I was thinking the same thing. Wonder if there is a better option for the same sort of price?

We have 2 of these. Decent enough fan for the money nice and sturdy. As others have said, it's not as quiet as they'd like you to think but it's not exactly noisy. Only negative for me is the awkward placement of the switch, and the fact that it turns straight on to the highest setting rather than lowest first.

Got one of these from Amazon when they were doing them for £15 like new...when it came the box was sealed and the fan warped in plastic brand new...a very powerful fan I only need it on setting 1# and it doesn't make mad noise which is great unlike some other fans I had in the past...

bloody love my 2 of these - we call them the jet engine fans! When it's hot hot nothing beats them and I rate them better than my dyson fan.

i have this fan on every night even in winter just for the white noise lol

This is the loudest fan I've ever had. Returned it as was crazy loud. Cannot understand why this fan gets so much heat.

Amazon use these fan internally at stow and pick stations at my FC. The are surprisingly good for the size

I've had this for a while, and it's perfect for me (in my bedroom, sometimes on through the night). Quiet enough at the second setting for sleeping, and with a strong blow that beats a much bigger and noisier fan I've used before (possibly because this one produces a more narrow beam of air; I generally aim it either near or at me depending on how hot it is). It's very small and looks decent.

The drawbacks are really the ergonomics. Lifting it is really awkward due to the insufficient and badly balanced handle (fortunately it's not that heavy). The control is very awkward to reach as well, and it goes 0-3-2-1 (full strength is next to the off setting). The tilt setting is a bit crude (it steps between a few different positions rather than allowing full control).

Overall, highly recommended due to efficacy, price and relative low noise. (edited)

I got one and a meaco. Would recommend but as others have said this one is a little noisy. Never bothered me personally

The only thing I don't like about this fan is the fan speeds. It should be 0-1-2-3 rather than 0-3-2-1.

I have got 3 of these now and that's the only product feature that massively irritates me

I am sure there is a design constraint or reason that has forced them to make the controls 0-3-2-1

But it is still very irritating 😞

Bought two of these when they were £11.79p in June.

Got one for £15. Powerful fan but the airflow is very focused. If it's not pointing directly at you, you can't feel it

    I’m a big fan

Anyone want mine, bought two , out of packaging used twice (London based)

They are good fans however they aren’t quiet and the control on the back is awkward but apart from that they are good
    enlargeyourponies's avatar
Yeah that control is awful and hard enough that you can't use a clickbot switch on it. I suppose it's a "good feature" if you have children at home.

If you're in town, pop into Wilko - they have a few different usb-powered desk fans at reduced prices (not this brand).

So these can't compare to the Meaco fans at all?
    ozk's avatar
Depends on the parameters of comparison.

The fan is good but not quiet..
If you like white noise this will help.
  23. iCrazyCarrots's avatar
Is there such a thing as a quiet fan?
    Ciderman's avatar
Yes, the Meaco air circulator fans use an enclosed housing so they are super quiet

I have 2, 1 thing I dont like is the switching on dial. Its at the top back and you would have to look whilst turning and maybe also tilt to get to it. Its not a button to press.
    Pos... its very powerful,
  25. mattd555's avatar
    The switch is very annoying
