    I'd suggest an LP60 is much better than this, neither are going to sound amazing, but for occasional use probably OK. My recommendation is look on Facebook Marketplace and pick up an original Technics, Sony, one of the Japanese brands, etc. From the 1980's you may also need a phono pre amp as well to connect to something. The quality will be better, control of tracking force, anti skate and cartridge options will be much wider too. Plus you'll get that real retro feel.

    You sound like you know a bit so I hope you don’t mind me asking a question. A few years ago I bought a Sony HP511A but I feel like it needs a service as I think it plays a little slow and probably could do with an expert onceover. Any recommendation on what kind of specialist I should look for?

    I was looking at this to replace my AT-LP60 mainly due to the asthetic but I was kindly gifted an IPL-500 but either way, a good price I'd say with weight/snaking control and a AT cartridge.

    I don't think there's a better turntable deal under £100.

    The only slightly weird thing with this deck, is that there's no lid... So it's gonna attract some dust!

    I think a dust cover comes with it, but whilst using it the Vinyl will be exposed which is a little odd
