    Yup, this info is on HP website.

    Forget HP if you want non-brickable printers. Maybe an old Brother/Xerox/Epson/Samsung. I'm also on the lookout for a laser printer and disregard HP even if the price is enticing.

    This printer is intended to work only with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip, and it uses dynamic security measures to block cartridges using a non-HP chip. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block cartridges that previously worked.     By the look of the cost of replacement toner, it's cheaper to buy this printer with its toner, and after it's used up just chuck the printer in the bin and buy another one

    "shipping" inks (included with the printer when supplied) tend to be lower/limited capacity.
    The sums may not work out.

    You can always connect it to your wireless router using RJ45 cable, but yes it is monochrome only.

    Well unfortunately, this applies to every printer these days and can't stop necessary printing though and to be environment friendly we should purchase toners instead of throwing printers away.
    However the vendors should think about reducing the toner cost to help everyone. (edited)

    I'm currently looking for a printer to print something pretty specific.

    I need to do double sided glossy cardstock 300gsm. Will be A6 and I'm doing a run of 1000

    I'm making some thank you cards and money off vouchers for my small business.

    I currentl have an epson 6105 inkjet A4, which will not be up to the task.


    I'm thinking an A3 duplex printer. Should I be looking at laser or inkjet for my needs?
