One of these might be a useful addition and a power charger.

This is an extremely good laptop, better than you would expect with very few compromises - the weight is mindblowing. No idea why they call it a Pavilion.

Yes, sorry should have mentioned that if you are not able to qualify for the student price, the retail price of £599 is the same at JL.

Very tempted by this, ticks basically all the boxes so I have been watching some reviews as I want a super portable laptop that can handle some audio production work. One thing to note is that both the 5600u and 5800u versions have the processor power draw capped at 15w. Both processors are rated at 25w. Presumably this is to keep thermals in check on such a small device, so the performance will not match other laptops with the same processer but higher CPU power.

NB - still think this is great value for light productivity and general use! Just feel it's a shame it's capped so harshly. One review I watched had the CPU temp under sustained load at only 66° so definitely room for more power there imo! (edited)

I pulled the trigger on the John lewis one guys, I am currently working with an ASUS C433T chrome book
so it should be an upgrade in all areas

This is down to 529 on the HP site for everyone now guys must be a new model incoming.

I have had this a while now and overall I think its great.

I do have one issue and thats when aero goes into deep sleep and you wake it up the finger print sensor doesnt work until you log back in by other means.

overall well worth the 599 I paid with John Lewis
