  • The narrow-bezel 10.4" screen gives you room to get creative, with Full HD+ detail for watching shows and viewing photos.

  • Whether you're streaming the series finale or your favourite playlist, the Huawei MatePad 10.4" Tablet features four Harman Kardon tuned speakers for immersive sound.
  • Project your smartphone display onto the MatePad so you've got more screenspace to work with. Make calls, send messages and scroll through photos from your phone on the tablet's high-resolution screen.
  • The multi-window display means you can have two apps showing at once.
  • Split the screen to keep up to date on the group-chat gossip while you're finishing an essay.
  • Or edit photos while viewing the original picture to the side.
  • The 7250 mAh battery provides up to 12 hours of video binging or 7 hours of 3D gaming.

Only a light small scratch on the screen on my A grade one, but you have to look closely to find it.

Not yet found a good way to install Google Mobile Services. Don't want to go the virtual machine route if possible.

I tried all sorts with no joy. It really is a matter of deciding what you really need and finding the best option. I have not used gspace/ourplay or dualspace. All have ads unless you pay and considering the price I paid and the extra it adds for these solutions I don't think it's worth it.

    My needs were:

YouTube - revanced with microg apks from website ✅
Press reader - app from Aptoide ✅
Chrome - app from appgallery (no sync) ☑️
HotUKDeals - app from Aptoide or appgallery ✅
Backcountry navigator - cloned from phone using Huawei phone to tablet clone tool ☑️
Tidal - from one of alternative app stores ✅
Kindle - from one of alternative app stores ✅
    ViMusic - from GitHub ✅
Gboard - from one of alternative app stores ✅
    Google earth - cloned ✅
    Hive - cloned ✅
Amazon shopping app - from one of the alternative app stores ✅

Google photos, Google play books, Google maps - apps won't work - but used Hermit (I bought it previously from appstore and used clone tool to get on tablet) and created webapps of all ☑️☑️☑️

eBay - you can get APK ok but it won't authenticate. So use Webapp using Hermit ☑️

UPDATE: I tried another virtual machine app called Gbox and that has no ads and works well for apps where webapps don't quite cut it (eBay and Google maps being a couple that are not great as webapps). (edited)

Grade A - Ex Demo coming in at £10 more for those willing to spend a little extra!

Slightly better condition and £10 is'nt to much more of a gamble, but same warranty length.

Mine arrived today. In correct box with all accessories, not a mark on it, no sign of previous use. Looks brand new

Same here. I bought an ex demo one at £98.

After much clicking and agreeing to all kinds of T&Cs. I got down to updates and uninstalling much of the bloat. 12GB later (3 big updates and 1 minor one) I finally got to Harmony OS 2 and Dec 2022 security patch.

HOS is quite neat. Used a combo of YouTube revanced and microg. Aptoide, Huawei appgallery and Huawei app clone tool (installed on phone and tablet) + Google chrome webapp feature and an app called Hermit that I have used before to get kiosk style webapps.

    All in all excellent :-)

Looks like Harmony OS 3 (based on android 12) will come to Matepad 10.4 in 2023 as well. So I should get some good life out of it :-) (edited)

Narp👎, tried and I get the message it can't be applied to either. Think it is only certain sellers :/

Very minor thing, but a question.

The nav dock in Harmony OS (Mac OSX rip off). It can have a split:

I'm sure mine did until I changed apps in dock. How do you get it back if you want one!?

UPDATE: you have to set the "Show recent apps" in home screen settings 😃 (edited)

The Matepad for £88 is fabulous deal. OK there's no Google but there's loads of work rounds to get the apps you need. 2K screen and 4 great speakers. It's a superb media player. Another excellent find Switchy.

Great spot. Hard to find a decent tablet with similar specs to this price.

How's the battery on these ones for those who have already bought them?
    sipart's avatar
Seems pretty good. Quite difficult to give you detail at the moment due to initial settling in after intensive update, setup etc.

Probably best to check out reviews online and YouTube for a tested opinion.
