Illy beans are bang average imho. Prefer the Lavazza varieties that are out there personally.
Tin is very handy for storing your ground coffee though :-) (edited)

    But it’s not airtight

Never buy beans that you can't see the date they were roasted.

I do like Illy coffee beans but, even on this offer, I can't justify the price difference between them and some of other beans available from Amazon and others.

Yep. I think you can get Lavazza beans for about 12-14 per kilo.

The price is average, the coffee is also average (imho). I think the packaging cost a lot, the container is sealed, and you open it like you open a can of coke.

Good price for these beans - thanks for your first post. Welcome.
As a self confessed coffee snob, I'd have to add that this price brings you into freshly roasted beans territory, which are far superior imo. Illy is well regarded for an ordinary coffee thanks to it's effective marketing - and who ends up paying for that?

I do confess to being a fan of Illy. Though I love quality smaller coffee roasters. It's well respected in Italy, where many see it as higher quality and more upmarket than Lavazza. Lavazza is actually a much bigger company.

Although cheap ISH for these, it's still a ridiculous price for mediocre quality beans, when you can get freshly roasted single estate beans for marginally more.

Rave coffee. Roasted on the day of despatch, only a few £ more and significantly better quality.

Amazon's 1kg own cream beans cost about £11 and they're lovely

I find Illy to be better quality than the likes of Lavazza and other supermarket best brands—my favourite coffee.
