FYI I got a scale that does all this for about £17 a couple of years ago, a Renpho branded one, works great still, app is really in depth too with consistent readings that seem to tally with real life.

I'm just not really sure just how much better this can actually be for the huge price difference.

    £20 on Amazon now.

Edit: welcome to the site though! (edited)

Compared to the quality scales you can get for sub-£40, it is pretty much the same except for the direct connectivity with the Garmin app. For me, I got a second hand Garmin Index for about £60 and that was about worth it for the convenience alone, but yeah, if you don't have a Garmin watch, etc., the scales aren't any better IMO.

These are 129-149 (depending on colour) on Amazon

    If I didn't already have a set - S1 I would get these.

Not for everyone, but if you are in the Garmin ecosystem, then it is a good deal!

Can someone explain to me how this is a ‘deal’ for £99? Surely you can get a set of scales that can do all this for a fraction of that price.

Design, user interface wi-fi sync vs bluetooth (no need to weight with mobile app open) and avoiding need for another app if you already track fitness/health elsewhere

Why cold? It's a great scale for people who want a connected one for Garmin ecosystem

Unless things have changed of late, no scale accurately measures body fat, but only gives you an indication based on localised measures, assuming relatively uniform distribution.
