Children’s sun screen is usually very visible (white) when applied so you can see any areas that are missed. Some adult sunscreens are not so obvious, being a more clear liquid. The actual protection is the same, there is no difference between adult and children’s sunscreen. The only other difference is that children’s versions do not come in low factors like adult versions.

So yes partly marketing but also partly designed to make it easy for uncertain parents to get the right SPF for their children simply by selecting a package that says ‘kids’ on it. We all know that there are people out there that don’t have the ability to think about these things properly and would be putting factor 15 on their kids skin if they weren’t buying the kids version.

I think it’s because otherwise you’d read the title and see Aberdeen and think, “suncream, Aberdeen? Maybe there’s an Aberdeen somewhere else in the UK? Oh no, they do mean Scotland!”
