Easy enough to check whether fake or not (with h2testw.org/ for example), but what is the return/refund policy these days for fake items?
Several years ago in 2009 I bought a brand new Corsair branded USB flash drive that looked very genuine, but on testing proved to be anything but. When I opened a case, eBay/PayPal said the onus was on me to prove that it was fake (h2testw report wasn't good enough) so went about seeing what else I could do. Ended up spending more money, getting nowhere & gave up in the end.
Also tried to get Trading Standards involved as I had the seller's full name & address but that was ultimately useless as well as he was apparently too small fry for them to bother with.
Soon after the account was receiving more & more negative feedback about the fake drives, proving me right, then not too long after the account was shut down & the seller simply disappeared. Despite this eBay/PP still refused to refund me. Wouldn't be surprised if he opened fresh account(s) & continued as before on & on until he eventually sold the lot. (edited)

mmm so sad to hear your bad experience with Ebay, but i can tell, money back guarantee works very well, times changed and Ebay improved very, you open case and in 3 days max they return your funds, no need to explain much, many items i returned without any issue, quick and easy, seller pays postage if in fault.

This one review says it all for me....
I hope you find this review useful, because ebay have persistently pestered me to write it. I bought 2 Micro SD Cards (128GB and 256GB), didn't use the first until after I had received the second. Neither of them worked, run both through memory check software, and both had more data loss and bad sectors than good. I have trouble with the idea that these memory cards could pass Samsung Quality Control. Item Description, Dispatch irrelevant. The seller did issue an instant refund for both.
