    Very slow write speeds but then it's a very cheap gen 1 based flash drive. Does get fairly warm if transferring a lot of data in one go

    I thought with it being USB 3 it should be fast (I've always used that as a measure)? What should we look for in a description to determine if it's "good" without having to look at timing diagrams? TIA

    Why is it sold at 128gb but when your format you only get 115gb….

This process consumes some space for things like the allocation table, directory structure, and metadata. Additionally, manufacturers often advertise storage capacities using "decimal gigabytes," which are smaller than the "binary gigabytes" that operating systems use to report available space. Both factors contribute to the flash drive showing less available space than advertised
