For 80p more you get the vde version. I have both types and as the VDE has a thicker handle it's easier to put a lot of force on the grip without it digging into your fingers.

Fair comment. I personally prefer these as I find the more bulbous handles on VDE pliers tend to get in the way when access is limited.
