Its the alcoholic version of inkjet printers. Sell you the printer for feck all then charge you for the ink.

I would agree that price per pound the blade seems like the good compromise.

My mates got the Blade and the Phillips pump in his garden bar ,he had one of these Subs as well but thought it didnt make much sense to him given the small beer capacity so sold it on
No complaints about the actual pump or beer quality or variety though.
I would say the Blade is the best compromise which is why getting one is like RHS
A neighbor has gone too far the other direction with a proper multi line chiller , gas ,and pub barrels in his man cave. Setup probably only cost him £500 as stuff is ex pub but he needs to drink 80 pints of Stella a month or the barrel goes off .Equipment upkeep cleaning pipes etc is like a hobby to him.
Works out at about £2 a pint pretty much whichever.

This company is the worst!!!!! We spent 8 weeks trying to get our money back after they sent us faulty goods. They wanted us to pay for return shipping to Holland which was £170!!!! They eventually agreed to send a currier to pick it up but not after 5, yes 5 failed attempts where they said they booked a pickup and the pick up company had no record of any booking! 35 emails later and having organised the curriers on behalf of beer wolf we got it sorted but never again!!!!! So he did all that to get rubbish beer. Better off going a local brewery and get fresh beers from them.

I actually prefer a pint from my sub than the pub. The sub for me over the perfect draft. As I love the Moretti, Amstel & tiger 🍻

Cheapest on the sub works out at £2.28 which is Zipfer which is a great beer.Having both machines I would advise anyone wanting one to get a perfect draft as the range of beers is much better and when your having a session changing a torp after every 3.5 pints is just annoying especially as the first one you pour is always a bit frothy meaning someone always ends up with a half!

Your math is a little bit off at £63 /31.5 pints = £2 a pint.

Not disagreeing with the fact it’s great value compared to the pub. Think I’ve paid £7 a pint for Lowenbrau at Christmas markets.

It is a bit steep but the beer isnt the stuff brewed in the UK its the proper thing (Heineken imported from Holland, Moretti imported from Italy) the ABV is stronger and the taste difference between the torps and a bottle is supposed to be worlds apart
  17. chris2618's avatar
Do you even need the dispenser? Looks like all it is a peltier cooler and a handle to move the valve in the little pipe that comes with the torp
  18. tonyk100's avatar

I share a pin (36 pints) or firkin (72) of fesh real ale with neighbours. Brewer delivers, all you need is a tap (12 quid) and knock up a little frame to sit it on. Wet towel keeps it cool. 1.50 a pint, amazing flavour.

Pints are hard to get right and usually come out too foamy.Personally I got one used for £50 because I home brew and reuse the kegs. The lid pops off with a sharp knife and a bit of working and the tap can be reused. I have my latest batch out the back (a pseudo lager) as I'm afraid of bottle bombs as I bottled and primed it when I don't think the brew has finished. So far so good after 2 days priming.[Image]

Same thing I use it for. Have you glued the tops on while it's priming? I used some strong garden wire wrapped around the top and then uber the bottle but I had three of the six pop open.

I've got this and a full sized Heineken one and they're decent tbh

The beer that comes out of them is gorgeous it's very clean, easily as good as a pub pint if you pull it right and stronger as well, I think it hits you more because the beer is cleaner than you're average pint

I could swig pints of Moretti in the pub all day, 4 or 5 pints of Moretti out of these and I'm fairy tipsy it's really high quality

    One of these/Blade
and a Perfect Draught would compliment each other well

No, I've always under primed and replaced the lid, never had a lid come off although one torp must have had a leak and I had to bin it.

This time I'm a little worried. I never measured the final gravity until my next brew was already on the boil. I bottled anyway but it's gonna stay outdoors for 2 weeks until it's ready to be fridged.

I'll know in the next week or so!

I'd say arguably a pint out of the Sub is better than the pub myself tbh, especially the Moretti it's beautiful isn't it

All 3 of them are lovely I like Desperados as well that's a nice summer drink, never used a PD but heard they're really good

Man loves his beer :). I sat and watched his video with 2 tabs going and in the background (In my other tab) there was like classical emotional violin music playing, and it blended in perfect towards the end of his video, he's staring at the beer with the music going and it was actually emotional

A bit of production help and his videos could be emotional and beautiful, a YouTube sensation

Thanks for the encouragement, I've joined too many Sub and Torps groups on Facebook that I may go mad if I don't buy it! Also realised with a bit of research, the compact edition is the only version available now.

I see the same keg package is £75 on the site, making the sub £75 in this deal, which ain't bad to be fair and a few quid to be claimed via cashback too.

By the time (if ever) it hits £50 again I'll have got plenty of use out of this one.

    2 litres for 8/9 quid !

You can brew a high quality 40 pint beer kit for less than 100 quid. That includes the cost of a Fermenter, barrel, hydrometer etc. And then you only need to buy the kits for less than £25.

You can also go all grain for not a massive amount more if you use the Brew in the bag method. BITB.

There are some amazing beer kits out there that easily beat pub beers.

It generates compressed air which is pumped into the keg, surrounding the internal 'bladder' which contains the beer and hence pushes the beer out. It isn't gravity fed.
