The 8gb is a good price, the 16gb is poor. This has upgradable ram and it's like £20 for another 8gb stick.

Agree, quick and easy job to do as well. (edited)

Tried to order one, but says. "The seller isn't accepting bids or offers from you"

Seems they might have blocked me?

History... Ordered one a while back... Perfect
Ordered another for the other half, had what looked like melted plastic around the bezel. So I sent it back.

I gather if you send anything back you are then blacklisted?. 👀

I had someone block me for submitting a best offer he rejected. Then went to buy it at the BIN price, blocked. Why even offer the best offer option if you're gonna block someone who makes an offer? You could always get someone else to buy it for you I guess, does the other half have an ebay account?

Good is subjective. You'd expect a 4 year old ex-corporate laptop to be mint in box? No ... it's going to have those types of wear and tear from normal use. If you've seen the state that some users hand them back in...

Someone had mentioned a trick using collect & collect to an Argos store in N.I worked.

    Edit: click & collect (edited)

Has anybody else had theirs arrive yet? Mines turned up today and the keyboard and surround feel like very cheap, brittle plastic, very scratchy feeling (like something I'd expect of Aliexpress). The power button has no led indicator when switched on (not that it's a massive issue). Just feels like they have used the cheapest keyboard, track pad and palm rest surround that they could get.

I re-looked at the advert and in fairness it doesn't say that they use genuine parts to refurbish.

It's just the picture of the ones advertised and what I have received are quite different. The track pad mouse buttons don't have the red border at the bottom as the official keyboard (again first world problems, buy I would preferred the actual official keyboard).

    Pictures for show.50711341-qx7Fj.jpg50711341-055HL.jpg50711341-9Pvcq.jpg50711341-2Cgrn.jpg

Similar case here, great condition but I'm not so sure how genuine the parts are, it doesn't feel very thinkpady to me though I've only used two of them from work and none of this size

The Dell alternative is the 7490, lots on ebay from business and private sellers

This or a touchscreen Dell 7390 I'd be interested in any ones views
    Thanks
    xenny's avatar
7390 is thinner and has USB A on both sides (handy for putting USB sticks on the opposite side when you're pushed for desk space for a mouse. This has two rather than one USB-C ports (but uses one for charging) and the extra thickness means a full height ethernet jack.

Personally I don't use touchscreens on laptops and prefer ThinkPad keyboards. (edited)

Itzoo were doing the T490 16GB for £204. Worth waiting for a restock?

No modular battery according to reviews.

I bought this model a few months back and it works fine. But I've been unable to successfully upgrade the SSD to a crucial 1TB despite many attempts! There appears to be a problem somewhere that my limited knowledge can't fathom. Seems some recommendations are a clean install of Windows 11. Th
