Lexar NM790 4TB SSD, M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe 1.4 Internal SSD, Up to 7400MB/s Read, Up to 6500MB/s

Ordered this last week after the ebuyer deal was posted by gav_shaw, but went with the dispatched/sold by amazon option instead of ebuyer and it arrived today (was originally due on 22nd). It's now even (slightly) cheaper!

Got it installed as laptop boot drive this aft and getting some good benchmarks from crystaldisk.

This is a fully Chinese configuration, Maxio MAP1602 controller, no DRAM and YMTC 232L TLC, take that as you will. It's basically the same drive as all of the others that have shown up from various Chinese brands on Amazon in the past few months (Netac, fanxiang, etc..).
Based on reviews the performance is very good for a DRAMless drive, but reliability (at least from my point of view) is an unknown quantity. Maxio especially doesn't have a good track record in that regard.

At least it’s a step in the right direction for lowering the cost of a 4TB NVMe at those speeds 👌🏼

You beat me too it, am adding to my machine as a "backup" and stop using my NAS as much.

Probably the best DRAM-less drive out there (along with the fanxiang S880/Netac NV7000-t, which are the same drives, just different brands, and Netac only go up to 2TB with this spec drive).

Performance matches a lot of the high end DRAM enabled drives (including 4k random r/w) while consuming less power.
    Pretty impressive really.

    EDIT:
The 4TB fanxiang branded version, the S880, is actually cheaper than this at the moment at £178.49.
Feel free to post it as a deal, if I do it my haters will vote it -50 degrees in 10 minutes, lol. (edited)

Great deal after the ebuyer ebay on expired but ordered this and an empty box showed up. Its one of those risks with amazon if you buy a light expensive item because the weight tolerance is a percentage of item + packaging so someone in the warehouse can swipe it.
