Careful with LG. I just bought the 2024 43in with an rrp of £599 (currently reduced everywhere) and I cannot believe how slow it is. 10 seconds to load the settings screen, apps take longer than this to load.
Granted I could use myfirestick but that doesn’t solve the general slowness of just using the thing! Takes a while to turn on too

I can't remember the details of how I sorted it, but it seems a common problem with LG TVs over the years, I had a similar issue about e years ago.

Basically I had to disable the Quickstart (I think), and there may have been another thing I did, anyhow it's been working fine ever since. Had a few OTA updates since and still all.hood.

Basically, great TVs, but often have quite low memory, so when apps start up it starts messing up.

I would Google the model number and see if others are having issues, might help.

Would it not be better to go for the 4k version for £207 ?

On a 43" screen 4k makes no real difference unless perhaps you do 4k gaming and sit really close to the screen.

I actually prefer 1080p as i can connect my PC and mirror the screen exactly and i can also use a cheaper netflix subscription. The TV should also run quicker as the processor has much less work to do with image processing.

How you got £159.20 should be £175.99?

Not a bad price, but not 4K and only 2 HDMI & 1 USB.

Latest 2024 TVs will have the new Freely app instead of Freeview

Any of these TVs have Freesat on them as well?
    Be79n's avatar
Most LG have freebies and freesat in my experience.

I run 4 LG TVs, oldest being 4 years old. Really like them, the software could be faster but in general everything is where you want it.

Think this could make a good monitor?

where it advises arial required, i assume that this is only for terrestrial tv. if you use your internet you can still get the smart channels ok?
