Over the weekend you can pick this 9KG heat pump dryer for £399 with free delivery.
The next best is Martin Dawes at £499 and it's one of the cheapest prices it's been so far, from what I can tell.

LG direct did it at £387 with a code and I know it wasn't around for long, so for £12 more than back then, I thought some of you may want to grab one.

Deal ends midnight Sunday (Unless stock runs out)

Description
The LG’s FDM309W 9kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer loves your clothes as you do. DUAL Inverter Heat Pump™ is energy-saving and dries at a lower temperature which protects clothes from shrinking and smooths creases.

When washing baby clothes, cuddly toys, or blankets, the Allergy Care Cycle is ideal. Garments are sanitized, and up to 99.9% of bacteria is removed, including dust mites. Approved by BAF (British Allergy Foundation), you can have the peace of mind that your laundry is allergen-free.

A Smart System
Easily manage your dryer with the SmartThinQ™ App, operate and monitor your laundry from anywhere, track energy consumption, download drying cycles to suit your needs, and use Smart Diagnosis™ to troubleshoot any technical issues.

Features
Make your laundry better with the LG FDM309W 9 Heat Pump Tumble Dryer. No need to get the cleaning gloves out. The condenser self-cleans, so you don’t have to! Thanks to Sensor Dry, it detects moisture in your clothing and automatically sets a drying time.

  • Dual Saving on Energy & Time
  • Dual Inverter Heat Pump™
  • Dual 10-Year Warranty
  • Allergy care, remove 99.9% live dust mites
  • Gentle Care

Can anyone tell me if this is a good tumble dryer for the price? I'm a novice but need a tumble dryer. Does this type require a water tap to be drained?
    deleted2808586's avatar
No it will collect the water in a container which needs to be emptied

I bought a Hisense yesterday from Costco which has 5 years warranty for £439.99

You still have time to take it back. This lg is a far better machine.

So what is the cost difference when using one of these compared to a normal dryer? ie is it a 50% saving or what?
    Chz's avatar
It uses about 25% as much electricity over a set time. But it then does take twice as long to dry anything. The savings are very, very real and add up quickly, but they're not quite as huge as the initial power draw might indicate.

This LG gets a Best Buy by Which at the price of £699!

Do these come with the kit to attach to the drain? If not any idea what to order and from where?

Also it's unclear whether these have reverse tumble? Such a pain to dry duvet covers or bedding generally without it.

I bought the FDV309 recently and yes it came with the hose to attach to drain outlet.

I then bought a McAlpine Twin Hose connector 40mm from screw fix as it shares the drain with washing machine.

Mine does have a Bedding setting, no idea if it reverses.

So far so good, no complaints

Shame I bought a similar one earlier in year. These are fabulous machines. Definitely go for one with hest pump seen a big difference in bills.

Doesn’t LG usually give 5 year warranty?
    diktiomenos's avatar
On washing machines yes, not on tumble dryers unfortunately. Still, a cracking price even with the 2 yr warranty.

What are peoples findings regarding clothes shrinking against condenser driers please
    MonkeysUncle's avatar
Never had any problems with mine.

Amazing deal. That's hundreds less than I thought I'd have to pay for a good heat pump dryer. Which? report on it is superb. Bought. Cheers OP.

Ordered one hopefully it dries well, what settings is it best to put on for general use

Everything goes on cotton+ in our house! Keeps the temp low as it’s energy efficient. Timer starts at 2hr 30 mins but usually done in 90 mins

    Aye?

I bought one of these to match my LG washing machine. It's a lot cheaper to run but does take longer to dry stuff. It pays for itself in about 2 years for us, although we do a lot of washing!

Tip. Clear both filters regularly. I didn't RTFM of course and didn't realise there were two.
    Wibblefish's avatar
It says self cleaning condenser, does it still need manually cleaning as well?
  15. Youngflyer16's avatar
Heat pump defo save on bills, yes does take longer for clothes to dry but clothes come out less creased so saves on ironing time too.
    wilchy's avatar
And they also dont have the same rules apply for drying clothes as they aren't as harsh. I chuck everything and anything in mine and all come out the same size they go in lol.

I've just received one in an almost identical condition (on the left hand side though). What happened with yours ? Was it easy to get a replacement ?
  23. Matthew_Brown72's avatar
Mine arrived in very similar conditions...but as the outside packaging was ok..I didn't open it for a few days...they say as it was outside 3 days it's tough luck.

Hi would anyone care to share how deep this actually is as the specs seem slightly off. I would like to fit it in a cupboard with a door
