This is a heat pump dryer it uses half the energy of a normal dryer and with the price of electricity just now depending on how much you use it it can pay for itself through electricity savings alone

Great deal just bought one thanks for sharing (edited)

I got a heat pump dryer to save on electricity but oh boy be prepared to wait 6 hours for a full load to dry. They take forever

Depends on what you buy, my AEG takes about 2.5hrs on the driest setting.

I bought the LG FDV709W last weekend for £550 (think this is a newer model) and have used everyday since. Has been great. Drying times is 2 1/2 hours for a full load. Would recommend.

Air is drawn in from the back so it needs to be 10cm from the wall/back of cabinet to be efficient. (edited)

Apart from Wi-Fi connectivity what makes this expensive dryer ‘the boy’?

    Was thinking the same.

And what does the WiFi actually do on a tumble dryer?

I'm in the market for one at the moment. The website says 2 year warranty but then the product lists as 10 years .. which is pretty good to be fair. Someone tell me why I should buy this over a cheaper one

Ive been on a hunt for new washing machine and dryer and so far found that from reviews Samsung have really good dryers but their washing machines not so much (LG better).

If you have perks at work/unidays you can find 9kg A+++ Samsung dryers for similar or lower price with 5yrs warranty+20yr for inverter. The Series 6+ is £561 right now (DV90BB5245AES1) (edited)

No issues with any Samsung washer. Been using for over 10 years

Banging deal. I have the matching washing machine and was dreading getting a different colour or mismatched style of dryer. Its still expensive but will look like a set with my washer. Heat added!

Too expensive about a week ago one on here was like 360.

Not according to the search history. Sure you’re not thinking of the washer @ £479? (edited)

What is the auto washing of the condenser like, do you still have to give it a scrub or brush eventually, or does the machines water flushing over it doing it all?
    Bash_er's avatar
It cleans itself, whether that is a good thing it not, you'll find out in a few years!

I think i m going blind, but how do you get it for £649? (edited)

LG really are clueless, there is no difference between the FDV909 and the FDV1109, yet a big difference in price.

Annoyingly if you want to colour match this is the "older" colour. The new ones are black steel and a lot more money.

LG also don't guarantee visual compatibility between their models, so without actually looking you can't tell if the V9 V10 and V11 are interchangeable.

It's annoying as LG are one of the best ones, in my opinion for washing machines due to their belt-less system (direct drive).
  12. sv70's avatar
how is this £649, says £749 on the website?
  13. dnaddison's avatar
I didn't go for an LG as the depth on this says 66cm so would stick out a bit. Anyone able to confirm this for people thinking of buying?
    imranbashir_uk's avatar
Yes the LG ones are quite deep, not an issue for me as its going in a utility room and is free standing. But if you want it under the counter it might be an issue.

Also keep in mind you need 10cm ventilation from behind ideally. (edited)

I pruchased the FDV1109B a few months ago and I got to say im very impressed with with LG dryers. If you set it the ecohybrid to time you can get loads dry in around 70/80 mins and doesn't cost the earth.
Also the drum light is an added bonus
    imranbashir_uk's avatar
That's the one I bought too, haven't fitted it yet but will be in soon.

How much did you end you end up paying, if you don't mind me asking? (edited)
