The weekend deals seem to be getting less attractive each week and the prices aren't reduced by as much as they used to. The Cider always used to be 99p did it not?

I also believe that both Lidl and Aldi deals are getting less attractive and quite often out of stock. Popped in yesterday in Tesco and they had appricots for 45p, flat peaches for 39p and small apples for 49p. And had these prices regulary over the spring/summer in last 2 years... Not sure if can call Aldi and Lidl discount shops, especially when the "deals" are out of stock. And maybe should stop making price comparison between own brand products against branded items such as Pringles, Doritos, Persil... found in the big supermarkets. Not saying that a branded product is better, some are and worth the extra money but others are no differrent from a smart value item. I regulary shop to Tesco, Lidl, Aldi and Asda aa all have some particular items i'm using. The wife loves Aldi, i think Tesco is better value but in same time really like Lidl's Special Week food selection , austrian schnitzels, greek olives and so on.... Long writing..blaming on insomnia.

Yes I've seen and had some great deals from Lidl and I might of even posted some but I wouldn't go to the effort of writing save 3p on a bag of crisps, it's getting to the point of oh it's Lidl/Aldi's weekend deals I'll post them weather they any good or not I'll get some heat for the effort

Are you blind or have I missed something? The crisps are 42p from 85p which is half price.

Andreoceon goes to the effort of posting these deals every week so people like myself can plan food shopping when there are discounts on foods that are already mostly cheaper than main supermarkets.

The reason Aldi/Lidl deals no longer give bigger savings is the other supermarkets have adjusted their behaviour/prices in response to them. I suspect if they disappeared from the landscape then the cosy cartel-like behaviour of the big supermarkets would return and prices would rise IMHO. Like all business they have to react to competition or make illegal agreements to keep prices high.

I don't buy Lidl fruit and veg either because, as previously stated, it doesn't seem to last very long whenever I have bought it. Not bought a lot of Ali fruit/veg.

Would vote cold but don't want to be a hater. Lidl produce is awful, things start rotting two to three days after you get them. Grapes reek of mould straight from the box they come in and are barely edible

When it was posted the title clearly said-
Root vegetable crisps 42p was 45p (save 7%)
Title may have been changed now but that's what it said, so obviously the op has realised it was not a hot deal and edited it, or op had made a mistake with the price and could have let me know as editing the title left my comment hanging
And as I said and many other comments above Lidl deals are nowhere near as good as they used to be so not really HOT DEALS (edited)

Not really sure I understand your comment, living in the past? If Lidl deals are not good deals now then they're not good deals and most aren't worth posting, it's nothing to do with the past, the op is living in the past thinking everyone is flocking to Lidl to save money when things have actually changed and Lidl is not the bargain shop it was.
And as a long time member I have a right to my opinion (winge!)
And if you read all the comments above you will see most people agree but didn't put it as bluntly as me
