I had a Lion battery in my Golf TDI with 3 year warranty.

It failed continuously in the winter just after 3 years - replaced with a Varta battery and working brilliant.

Lion batteries aren’t great and cheap for a reason.

Tayna batteries is a solid place to get ahold of Varta car batteries. Varta and Bosch are made in the same factory, and same range e.g. Bosch S3 (Varta Black), Bosch S4 (Varta Blue), Bosch S5 (Varta Silver).

Don’t do it, bought one a few years ago, and within a few months had to buy a better quality batter to replace it.

Did it stop working? What happened? It has a 3 year warranty...

I had one of this brand on my old car too and it was still going strong 5yr later.

Do not buy these batteries, I’m in the trade and we had so many returned we stopped buying them

Don't buy these batts. If the user reviews are one thing, any company attempting to mislead consumers in thinking they're getting some kind of advanced modern technology battery (LION, AKA: Lithium Ion), probably isn't a company you want to give your money to.

Stick to Varta, Yuasa, Bosch, Exide. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Had two of these, wasn't worth it at all. If you drain the battery dead even once, expect to have to replace it. And that's way too common for it to be even good value for money unless you're short of funds. You can get a great quality Bosch S4 or something for less than the price of two.

From experience, not worth the jeopardy.

Lion batteries are cheap and nasty. They cannot last through winters. I have had 2 of them and both did not have enough umphh to get cars going on cold mornings

I was going to buy one of these from Europarts as the garage that checked my battery could not supply an an affordable one. I told him I saw a much cheaper option at Europarts and straigth away he said "Is it a Lion?"
When I said yeah he said that they had stopped using Europarts as many of the parts were rubbish and especially this battery.

Mine was the 70A version so when I got to Europarts I asked the woman behind the counter about reliability and even she admitted they had more returns for this brand than most.

I spent another £20 on top to get another brand and the garage fitted it for free. I listened to their advice and I think the extra was worth it. Honest garage, honest advice so beware. (edited)

Have had one of these in my car now for 18 months now, and it does what it says on the tin.

    Ordered and Heat.

I think this company might be owned by EuroCarParts.

Last time I checked which was 7 years ago these lion batteries were rebadged Turkish ones.

A good cheap option if you know you won't be keeping the vehicle very long.

Had one as a replacement for the battery in my first car a few years back. Ran absolutely fine for another couple of years until I sold it. Paid similar to this.

    Lithium-ion car battery? That's absurd!
    rrr99gp's avatar
They exist but frightnigly expensive. Hence why they are exploiting the name. (edited)

yuasa are a premium brand too, they do better spec batteries than varta. I only bought Varta because it was cheaper than yuasa on sale.

If it fails within 3 years, new battery for free, simple.
    EndemicAlarm's avatar
It's likely not very simple if you can't use your car, and likely not worth saving £20 or £30 across a few years.

Also unless something has changed, they'll only replace it once.
  25. Peterberriman's avatar
I thought these were good at first but the last two I've bought (mine and daughters) proved unreliable in the winter if not used regularly. The "test conditions" my supplier required meant that the batteries were fine according to their spec..... Changed for another brand and not looked back. I will not be buying this brand again.
