    Is all mouthwash not teeth and gum?

    It must be very difficult to only swill it on just the teeth OR gums...

    Yes, however it's probably referring to the cocktail of active ingredients targeting both. For example Corsodyl's active ingredient is 'chlorhexidine digluconate' the purpose of which is to kill bacteria on the gums but then there's also flouride in it which is used to strengthen teeth.

    If you look at the ingredients in Listerine there'll be components added to target and prevent issues with the teeth, others to target ones with the gums.

    At the end of the day it's branding really. I wouldn't worry unless you drink it. (edited)
